I take it that the tires are multidirectional and can can rotate in any direction. Because that changes when you rotate sides. I did look and I did not see any arrows showing any particular direction to be installed.

Interesting on the TPMS for the C8, the C7 seems to automatically re-learn the sensors. I switch back and forth between daily and track tires. The pressures are different and the car learns the new pressures after about 5 minutes of driving, if it even takes that long. I do use the AC Delco TPMS sensors.

@@jster171 I reviewed the C8 manual and it has the same exact wording on the automatic TPMS relearn as the C7 manual. My guess is the dealership cannot wait 20 minutes for the car to sit. Time is money.

Page 272 of the 2021 C8 manual states that after rotating or changing tires the system will automatically match and relearn the TPMS sensor codes after a few miles all by itself.

That's not the case any longer. Even on my C7 Z06/Z07 my Michelin Cup 2s & my current Michelin A/S 3+ can be rotated from side to side.

Don't pay the dealer to rotate your C8 tires. Do it yourself. Just remember that left is right and right is left when you get an alert. Next rotation you'll be good again.

The system automatically relearns the proper sensor positions after you drive for a while just like it did on the C7s. You don't need a dealership to use a fancy gadget like Chuck had.

Use the "Relearn" selection in the DIC. Read the manual, Page 272 TPMS Sensor Matching Process - Auto Learn Function Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. The identification code needs to be matched to a new tire/wheel position after rotating the tires or replacing one or more of the TPMS sensors. When a tire is installed, the vehicle must be stationary for about 20 minutes before the system recalculates. The following relearn process takes up to 10 minutes, driving at a minimum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). A dash (-) or pressure value will display in the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) 0 92. A warning message displays in the DIC if a problem occurs during the relearn process.

Rick Wednesday's tragic accident I reported earlier to you about a whole truck load of C8 Corvettes that were on fire and probably were a total loss of close to 900,000 the sad part is these people have been waiting over a year or so for their cars and now what are they going to do now

Hi Rick, how do you guys get on with your insurance cover with off road activities , here in New Zealand as soon as the car leaves an "offical" roadway eg raceways etc, your insurance cover ceases to exist and any damage whether to your self (car) or second party is on you??

Very informative, as usual. I just put a new set of all season Michelins on my 2019 ZR1 and didn’t really think about having the tire sensors relearned. I’ll have to check to see if mine are correct. Thanks for the scoop!

If you purchase the Z51 package GM should have automatically added 2 more quarts of oil in the transmission for what your pain for and state so. Supercars need extra oil to keep cooler and for G turns. What up GM? Are the tires bidirectional? If not what does swapping them from left to right do? Wear the treads in opposite direction to even the other edge of the tread? I thought you would remove the tires and remount them on the rims. If that's the case, why relearn the sensor? Any help would be great. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Rick, not sure all that nonsense with the TPMS relearn is required on these cars. I have 2 sets of wheels for my 21 C8 with original equipment TPMS sensors and I can swap wheel sets at will and the car learns the sensors and locations within a few miles of driving. I feel like Chuck should know this.

This is what I experienced as well. The system actually learns when tire switch (left to right) occurs and calibrates the TPMS correction automatically.

Seems common practice at dealerships and other garage to ignore basic service, charge for unnecessary expensive things while ignoring preventative maintenance. Just another scam in the modern economy. Been a constant issue at Cadillac dealership for my 2014 CTS

Not unless you take the tires off the wheels first. You also don't need to have a fancy tool like Chuck had. All you have to do is drive the car for a while after rotating the tires & the sensors will relearn the proper sensor positions automatically. It was the same on the C7s.
