I grew up in Plymouth in the mid 90s when it was a great place. Went back in 2022 and this was the sort of crap we witnessed in the city centre. I have alot of nostalgia for Plymouth, but its gone massively downhill.
I'm in my thirties, and I grew up elsewhere, most of my friends down here are older than me, 40s to 60s. They say the city centre had serious problems with all the marines fighting at night. Heck my grandad (who isn't a nice person, and I avoid.) Had a name for himself, he apparently took on 8 men with a rounders bat. 😐 He never told me this himself, but it was witnessed by many.
If he was armed, they would have shot him, if not, they would have -tased- tazed him. They'd also have other non lethals to work with as a pain deterrent, pepper spray and 40mms. The main issue of course, is if the perpetrator in question was carrying a firearm, which is often the case in the USA.
@@shaungardner311 You can't blame the individual police officers, they are limited by the regulations handed down by the governing bodies. That's where the problems lie.
I suggest that the UK Constabularies outlaw the taser as it is potentially dangerous and harmful to suspected criminals. I suggest introducing the 9mm Glock pistol with a 14 shot clip containing armour piercing rounds, instead. Fights grime more effectively.
@@thelastgamerontheleft that's cuz Plymouth is a CITY so ofc there's more crime there than fucking thurlestone or some posh village made up of second home owners. And there's only one other city in devon
plymouth IS beautiful but a lot of it (especially the residential areas) were bombed to shit in ww2 and our shit gov didn't put in enough money for those areas to be not kinda shit when rebuilt etc. There's a lot of class parts of Plym plus there's loads of regeneration projects underway in the last couple years and in the future
No-one with any sense uses the city centre anymore. It used to be a good place, but the druggies and vandals (and I include the council there) have ruined it. My brother and his wife haven't been shopping there for many years, and they are local.
I use to walk around there with my dear old mum , that was 20 years ago, this lunatic would have been in nappies then, and i think he is still in nappies by his actions.
Taze, spray, cuff to gurney, ambulance to Bellevue, straight jacket in a padded isolation cell, anti-psychotic meds, etc!😮😅Remember, a nightstick a day keeps the bad guys at bay and in jail!!😮😅😮
tasers don't work regularly, in that time he could pull a knife run between the wide opening towards the public shopping and stab someone. Are they waiting for him to hurt someone?
I think they are being human, with human brains, intense situations tend to give us tunnel vision. It's a lot easier to make decisions without being there, without being the one holding a weapon.
The sad factor and elephant in the room, that everyone seems to be ignoring, is he is obviously drunk or on drugs. Probably Psychiatric medication. It's very rare for sober people to behave this way.
@@spook8756 by mentally challenged you mean a person who went through their educational years not giving a shit and made the lives of his teachers an absolute living hell and then embarked on a career of benefit collecting and petty crime.
Ever see John McEnroe the tennis star. He performed for the whole nation at Wimbledon! If he was around now, the umpires would probably use tasers! Rather than game, set and match, it would be taser and out!
Been in many street scraps, and frankly, you can never be sure who you're dealing with. The guy could simply have serious mental issues, and on the other hand he could be seriously dangerous, and we don't choose big coppers now who can handle these situations. They tend to try and talk their way through it, and if that fails, they pull their tasers out, like some kind of Jedi warriors.
@@WhoThisMonkey Yeah definitely and they're paid so badly these days too, it's a wonder that anyone does it. But, that's a part of the plan. If every gormless idiot keeps voting for parties that promise tax cuts, there will be no police or any other public service in time. It wont bother the likes of the rich, but it's the everyday bloke on the street that's going to suffer.
It would of funny if one of many police said,do you speak English?,doooo you understand me English or British ?? Me,,like in Only Fools when Albert said he spoke German😸😸
@@WhoThisMonkey It's an old "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" skit where Stephen Fry plays a greedy politician and Hugh Laurie plays as Tony, Robin Hood-like guy. It's silly i know.
classy plymouth lol, i used to live there, i worked there 4 days ago doing a install job and yet again i saw another fight in the shopping center, horrible place is plymouth, gray, dull, wet, rough as rats, grim, so glad i moved from there - the worst city in the south apart from london
@@WhoThisMonkey hi, below birmingham i guess, i have worked everywhere but i admit i dont know reading that well - been there only twice but i have heard that it is pretty bad there now, as for bristol not sure on that because bristol is a lot bigger in population and crime percentage to per person is less, with plymouth its just violent crime and drugs, assault is unbelievable there, plymouth people love to have a fight or beat someone up, even the women scrap, the police in plymouth will tell you this also
There is none now!!! Funding cuts!!! And tyrants in community leadership, who care more for their pockets, than for their citizens. Been there, and left with the indelible life scars!!!
He's obviously not right, yet these ffing clowns surround him like a load of baddies in a spaghetti western, and decide who's going to gun him down unnecessarily, we are little America.
The guys in the yellow hi viz aren't police, they are glorified council workers that are there to give tickets to people who litter and act as security for the city centre shops. There's one police officer initially (the one with the Taser) he gave this geezer all the time chances to just walk away. He didn't. He got arrested for it. No one was ever considering 'gunning him down' so I don't know what you mean by saying 'we are little America.' While I agree our country is a joke, I wouldn't say we are as bad as America at this point.
@@WhoThisMonkey You know perfectly well that people will click on this to see somebody tased, hence the “taser involved” title. Looks like Clickbate to me.
@@johnferry7778 The title says 'involved' so as to not be clickbait. Admit when you are wrong, if not to me, then to yourself. If you want to see someone tased, go look at my other video where someone actually gets tased.
That copper should not have a Taser pointing at someone who is unarmed. If I had my way, that copper would have their authorisation to carry a Taser revoked. I am also of the view police officers who routinely carry a Taser should be subject to six-monthly assessments to check they are fit to use a Taser, as firearms officers are.
@@benkay8295 Unless I am very much mistaken, Taser-authorised officers are assessed annually, but only to check they can handle the weapon and scare the shit out of members of the public by pointing it at them. As for officers' psychological fitness to be issued with a Taser, no, that doesn't seem to happen, yet those issued with pistols and carbines are psychologically and physically assessed every six months. A Taser is a firearm within the meaning of Section 5, Firearms Act 1968. Public safety must be paramount. Officers who misuse Tasers must not be allowed to be issued with such a weapon. The first instance of misuse should be the last. No second chances.
