Good afternoon from Pleasant Hills, PA. Why don’t you put your hinges on the top. Then push the door to the attic above your head. You can use a little latch to hold the door up and out of your way. Don’t forget about putting a couple of lights in your attic. 🇺🇸

Curious why you dont have collar ties from front rafter to back rafter right under the peak ! Might not need as many where the new roof meets the old roof but where your man cave /office is going to be might be an idea ! To protect the roof from snow load and wind !
At are you adding a wall under that wall to close off the area where your going to have your computer and tool bench since your going to add AC and heat
