I’m a fragrance addict and I was looking for a review on a perfume for my wife. I came across one of your video and you had my attention. I watch reviewers like TLTG and gents scents daily and I think it’s absolutely awesome that woman get the same passion and knowledge from a reviewer with perfume. Keep it up, you’re killing it!

I was sold on Celeste by your description of it but I’m glad I tested it before buying. I LOVE violet in perfume but this one was very very sharp to my nose. I also didn’t get any of the vanilla notes. I fear the ambroxan just doesn’t work on my skin 😔

I have watched countless reviews of Hufflepuff and NO ONE mentions the GARDENIA! Idk if it’s my bottle or because I’m in South Florida or because I grew up with gardenias growing everywhere, but I get the most dreamy-creamy gardenia wafts. It’s divine!

@@AnneLauren omg no I get that! I’m just saying I feel like I’m the only person who DOES get it. Hence my explanation.Why go out of your way to passive aggressively say that to a follower on a 3 week old comment, as if I was complaining or insulting your experience with the fragrance when I clearly wasn’t.

I love a good fruity floral but Lionora really did me dirty. On my chemistry, this is a milky, sugary caramel bomb. The freesia might be whimpering somewhere far in the background. I can’t wear vanilla gourmands at all because my skin amplifies sweetness to the point that it becomes syrupy, cloying and makes me nauseous. I was expecting a floral but this was definitely a gourmand on me. Similar to the caramel base in Pop Heart but without the ambroxan musk. I like some of the Mind Games scents but so far I have not found one that I love.

I know I’m not in the market for perfume but I just love listening to you talk !! 🤌🏻 Also, I would love to hear you talk about when you stop wearing seasonal fragrances? Or how you decide? Like I’m in a cold climate but I feel like I abandon/neglect my winter stuff too early sometimes? Do you have any sort of personal rules of thumb for when you like to put things away / switch seasons? Do you ever switch back and forth depending on the weather? Etc. Maybe that could be in a little “perfume tips and tricks” video. I’d love to see that from you. (like some tips that took me forever to learn for myself-avoiding the neck so my nose isn’t overwhelmed/numb, lotion + aquaphor beneath perfume for staying power, hair perfume.) Okay anyway that was a novel. :) love you and your videos !
@AnneLauren
@AnneLauren 5 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️ Honestly it depends on what the weather is like for the day! So the moment it's officially spring, I won't exclusively be reaching for spring perfumes if a cold day pops up. I'll go ahead and wear a fragrance I'd normally grab in the fall/winter for that day, but I will primarily be wearing fragrances that fit into the category of the season :)

Ormonde Jayne is a classy house. I just got a travel of Frangipani and I was surprised how much I like it. YAY Celeste - I’m with ya 100% on her. I’m obsessed with Violet right now too 💜 I finally got my sample of Violet Shot - today is the day. Since you like Violet here is an Arabian/ME rec that nobody talks about: Laraib by Asdaaf. It’s violet, rose and vanilla - feminine and wildly addictive to me.

I've been so interested in Mind Games and I love a good passionfruit note. Lionora sounds like it would be right up my alley!!! If you love a good cherry fragrance that's not too sweet, I would recommend French Defense from the same collection (soulmates collection). It's a very calming scent (due to a soft chamomile note)!

So the past 4-5 videos same fragrances rotated with different titles in the videos. You really push them for the PR. Amazing, when I first discovered your channel you were really talking about what you love the vanilla, the woods, the spicy vanilla, vanillas with a twist. Then you got famous, PR came and now you love every floral they send you. Weird how that works
@AnneLauren
@AnneLauren 6 месяцев назад
I'm not sure who's past 4-5 videos you've been watching because the only fragrances I've spoken about twice in the past 4-5 videos have been Celeste, Violet Shot, and L'Amour Eternel. Also, if I want to talk about something I love more than once that's perfectly fine. In fact, I'd argue that's genuine over saying I love something, never speaking about it again, and only consistently showing you something different. I may not have a collection as large as other content creators because I only keep what I truly love and use. It should also be abundantly clear that I don't give disingenuous positive reviews. I quite literally have an entire series on my channel where I review PR that didn’t work out for me (just posted one 2 weeks ago), I have a series on my unfiltered opinions reviewing popular fragrances, and have even in sponsored videos, mentioned if I didn’t like a certain perfume. While woody vanillas are my favorite profile, I own and love many different scent profiles, that's easy to see from my collection videos. Spring is specifically the season that I pull for my most feminine, fruity, floral fragrances, I'm simply not going to be reaching for spiced vanillas in warm weather. Again, you can go back to the beginning of when I was doing fragrance content and see that reflected in my early spring recommendation videos. Rouge Malachite, Greenwich Village, Mon Guerlain, Cassili, Prada La Femme, I can go on - all in my very first spring recommendation video - filled with floral and fruity perfumes.

Damask is a particular type of fabric weave. "Originally hand-woven and most often made in silk, damasks have had a long-standing status as a luxury fabric. They were first produced in China over a thousand years ago, but didn't cross into the European sensibility until the 14th century, when they began to be woven on draw looms in Italy." Just so you know, the accent is on the 1st syllable..."DAM·muhsk".

I have a sample of Celeste in my Luckyscent cart. I love violet. My local shop just got the little 15 ml of Violet Shot back in stock. I just don't need the 100 ML as I have a lot of fragrance. I've smelled it and it's awesome, hubby approved also. For violet I love my Aimez Moi by Caron and La Violette by Goutal. Misia from Chanel is on my wish list, sadly the price has gone up $50 since it went on my list. So happy it has finally warmed up where I live (WA state), going to get out my Hermes Jardin Cythere today.

Is OJ Damask similar to Byredo Young Rose? Thanks in advance to anyone that answers! 🙏🏼
@AnneLauren
@AnneLauren 5 месяцев назад
I don't find it to be similar. Young Rose smells like a fresh, pink, natural smelling rose. It has a spiciness to it, but it’s not a dark spice, the pepper pairing is lovely, it’s not too much. It has a very slight powdery quality from iris, and a clean musk in the base, slightly sweet as well. It’s a linear, pretty girl scent. Comparing the two, Damask has more going on.

I struggle deciding to get middle eastern or Arabian perfumes. Everyone says you have to let them macerate for months, but when I buy a fragrance I want to wear it right away, not months from now! Would like to hear thoughts/suggestions on this.
@AnneLauren
@AnneLauren 6 месяцев назад
I absolutely recommend clearing out the straw and letting it sit for a month when you first get it. It really makes a difference! In my experience, while they do continue to get better with time, I haven’t needed to wait longer than a month to see if something was my cup of tea or not

I have had this Shagaf Oud Ahmar for months now, i got it in a set with Shagaf Oud Abyad. I though Ahmar was another Erba Pura clone so it didnt excite me and Abyad at the time i thought was too woody and smoky. I have just gone back to them now and brought them out both. Ahmar is much more tolerable and Abyad i find myself loving the smoky middle eastern scent, shame im loving it when the weather is changing but will sneak in a few wears.

@AnneLauren
@AnneLauren 5 месяцев назад
It's not headache-inducing for me, but that can vary from person to person. It’s a very well blended, sugary vanilla, jammy rose combo. Quite sweet from the vanilla and caramel, and has a warm, resinous quality from myrrh and amber. It's a gorgeous scent, but not for me because it definitely has the Mancera Roses Vanille DNA which isn't my style
