Oneshot comes to STEAM with a whole lot of new content. It's time to give it another shot. Oneshot on Steam - store.steampowe... Facebook: / nitroradofficial Twitter: / nitrorad
I still like to refer to Niko as a female... But like Frisk of Undertale, Niko is of unambiguous gender... I messed up my Solstice route when I left the Barren's mine before making the minecart appear...
Random Fandom Trash I know right? I guess if it's popular people will think it's the first unique thing. The way Oneshot executed the way of messing with game files is superior compared to DDLC to me. I like DDLC but Oneshot will always remain my favourite.
Oh wow! I was a fan of the original game but I did NOT know it was getting commercially released, new content and all! Getting it now, thanks for the heads-up!
Actually, Niko's gender is never specified... But the creator DID say that it was left for the player to decide, so yes you're OFFICIALLY allowed to decide that Niko's a boy!
Hmm... What other fourth wall breaking games do I know of that involve genderless children waking up in a foreign world inhabited by abnormal creatures while trying to get home/ save said world
RPG Maker MV does let you change the resolution with a plugin that was made by a guy, YanFly, who made videos for the official RPG Maker channel. I doubt he works on the official team, but he's at least officially endorsed. Also, yes, he does allow for his scripts to be used in commercial games, no royalties or anything.
Hey, just wanted to say that I really enjoy your channel, but I especially want to thank you for showing me this game! I absolutely love both versions of this game. I look forward to all of your videos but especially your RPG Maker game reviews if you plan to do more!
Ironically, there was a way in the original oneshot to achieve both endings. Just many players refused or just ignored doing research and testing to do so. Effectively turning "oneshot" into "manyshots"
It won't happen. Sheeple don't like it. It's too good to be recognized by sheeple. The reason why Markiplier even knew about it is because Disney (MAKER media, his MCN) told him to let's play it (to ruin it and expose it to the negative effects of Sheeple.) Either that or I'm just throwing a really stupid conspiracy theory into a youtube comments section.
5:28 Yeah, im curious about that too. I checked and it's likely in the newer softwares. I believe the old games (rpg maker 2003) are a lot harder to customize.
Im so hyped for this remake now. i wanted to play the original but i was too terrified of something causing me to close the game like my computers terrible battery or reality getting in the way before i could see the rest of the story.
i know this video is pretty old but i recently went to katsucon this month & the creator of oneshot was there!! they were selling official oneshot stuff too (i unfortunately didnt get any because im a fool..)
In case you're unaware, NitroRad, OneShot got a new update called the Solstice update. Your story is not over yet. I'm not expecting a video on it or anything; I just wanted to inform you so you could experience more of OneShot.
Geez, with that statement at the end for OneShot merchandise, I suddenly had a vision of OneShot blowing up and become just as revered and despised as Undertale, with the people who love it really loving it, begging people to play it and being a bit... weird, and the people who hate it really hating it, despising seeing it all over the place and considering it vastly overrated and the fanbase toxic. I... kinda hope that doesn't happen, but I suppose it would be cool.
with undertale being my favorite game of all time, i have of course heard of the toxic fandom, but i dont really interact with the fanbase at all, so i dont know why the fandom is called toxic, i just love the game. so toxic how?
yknow, funny thing- lots of parts of this reminded me of .flow's areas. i figured the creators were just very inspired by yume nikki and the like; which is very normal for many rpg maker games. turns out, one of the developers is actually the creator of many .flow artworks and remixes to its ost. which is cool.
one more thing. in the library in the full version of oneshot, there's an npc who seems to be commenting on how "everyone's calling [their] work a copy of [a more famous person's] work, despite [their] work being first." i felt sort of like this was a call out to those calling oneshot a simple undertale clone.
I still love Undertale despite the few rabid fans. I don't let their vocal voices get to me on the game. Although I do hope this game stays off their radar.
I swear, every fucking time an RPG maker game becomes known, some jackass has to say the same "OH I HOPE IT DOESN'T BECOME LIKE UNDERTALE" bullshit. I have seen it in pretty much EVERY comment section on EVERY rpg maker game video that I have seen. I am really damn tired of it.
I hate to say it, but I'm so glad that this game never got as big as UnderTale. I heard about this game ONCE (probably over a year prior) before I purchased it about a week ago not counting one or two silly memes I found. It was on sale and I said "why not?" Not a thing was spoiled for me prior to my first launch, unless you count "this bad boy can hold so much f***in' tears in it," which tbh is what convinced me to give it a go. This poses two issues though: A) So many people are missing out on this amazing experience, and B) It's hard to find people to talk with about the game. I do think that's a worthy trade-off however, because it wouldn't have had nearly the same impact on me if I had watched a let's play or heard some endgame story details from an offhand conversation. I'm now recommending this game to anyone with a personal computer, without mentioning anything that's not apparent within the first 5-10 minutes - ESPECIALLY people I know who really enjoyed UnderTale.
Ace of Shades I’m planning to balance that out by trying to get as many people as I can to at least hear about OneShot. When and if I’m able, I plan to just outright gift the game to my friends because of how much of a must-play it is.
OneShot was such an amazing experience, it already won a spot as one of my favorite games of all time before the Solstice update even came out. I had 5 playthroughs by the time the update came and I was still astonished when I finally got to play the new content
I actually "beat" the game before watching this video... And yes i didn't beat the game, the game beat me. That final choice broke my heart... i must've cried for 20 minutes or something like that. I too deleted the savefile and rebooted the game but i don't think i will finish the game again because in my first playthrough i sacrificed niko for the better of the world, and i don't think i couöd makea different descicion... I don't think i can make another descicion to begin with. But yeah! Great Video Great Game!
Hi. I also just finished it... But... I didn't get a good ending. It hit me so hard. I really felt bad for Niko and the other characters. And now I wanna make up for it. And as I started playing it again. The game made me feel much more pressure, responsibility and... Guilt. But I'll go for the better ending now.
You can now give this game 3 more shots due to how this game now going to be released for consoles such as the Nintendo switch, playstation 4 and Xbox One
It has a more serious and melancholy tone. Plus it goes in a very OFF direction when talking about economics and complexities of the crumbling world before you. They go waay in depth about how the world is slowly breaking, unlike undertale, which does not have that element at all.
Good video! I just got it on Steam and am excited to play it. Do you recommend playing the original first? I would kinda like to be able to go in fresh and if the remake has more content/story maybe it's better to just experience that all for the first time? -or should I experience what the original has to offer first?
It's sad that this game doesn't have a lot recognition, I mean Markiplier played it but still the more videos he uploaded the less views he had... This game it's awesome and there are no words to describe it!!!!!! I hope one day they gonna make a sequel calling it "Another shot" or "The next shot" cause Niko it's an adorable character and I want to see him again!☺
just pulled an all nighter to complete the game 3 times to get only 2 endings. How you may ask, well the whole game broke and I was missing out on that true end so deleted everything and redid it all. Best night ever and I got to ball my eyes out twice.
I actually preferred the dichotomy endings to the solstice ending. Sure it was the best of both worlds for Niko, but it removes so much of what made the game as impactful as it was. What are your opinions on it?
I like the art of this game. It just looks so fucking adorable, and Im happy to see that it became remade and better. Though, I dont get how people are comparing it to Undertale. This game has nothing to do with it.
UltraChespin11 You see, thats the problem with the fandom (well, the BIGGEST one, atleast), just because theres one tiny simularity, they compare the two and say "This game copied Undertale!" even if it came before it. The fandom just needs to calm the fuck down, if you ask me.
I dunno if this remake was made on RPG Maker MV or not (That is honestly a testament as to how well they disguised the game as something OTHER than an RPG Maker game), but if it was made on MV then widescreen IS possible. In fact, MV is the first one to let users do that (legally) which is... Honestly kinda weird and why did it take them that long? However even if you set your game to be widescreen it actually opens the window in the original 4:3 resolution briefly before adjusting into the new resolution. It's not busted broken, but it's a little bothersome. I dunno if the devs were bothered by that too or they simply wanted to keep the same aspect ratio of the original.
I think there is a way to change the aspect ratio in RPG Maker, but you need to script it, assuming they didn't add it to newer versions which I am not familiar with. It's kind of a shame that they removed the "one shot at completing the game" gimmick. I mean, it gives the game it's name after all and with the appropriate length I don't think it would even be unfair to sell a game like that. However I am glad that you don't need to save your game anymore and can just close it. Never saw much of a point of that in the original and it just annoyed me. Also nice Don Hertzfeldt wallpaper.
Oneshot, the only game where you get one shot, except there's a new game out, so you have 2 shots. But STILL, One shot. But wait, you have, INFINITE SHOTS!
There was an old game called… You Only Live Once…? Something like that… It was a game that if you died, the game would uninstall itself and change some flags in the system registry so that it could not be played again, even if reinstalled. Whether or not that particular game allowed you to save, I've no idea.
That's the uglier version of OneShot, at least here you can remove a file or two to get back to the game. If not then you're fucked. But that is brutal.
