I thought I was having a good season, but this week reversed that!

I climbed to Master/GM during OW1 and arguably at Mercy's strongest (mass rez ult), so it's a lot different climbing now. I have had relatively good luck this season, and I do think luck plays a lot into how far you can climb on Mercy. You are extremely dependent on what kinds of teams you get and especially what DPS you get. I have climbed a bit this season, not to GM yet, but I did have an awful day a couple days ago where I kept playing when I shouldn't have. I managed to end the day at 12W and 16L with the thanks of my friend who duo'd with me at the end of the day, and we got a lot of wins then. So the first tip is to recognize when days are bad and to stop playing on those days to minimize the losses you g et. I know it's hard, at least for me, to get off on those days because it just feels horrible being down so bad, but if you're disciplined you should really do that. Others tips I have for you include these that I've given others regarding Mercy specifically if you're really determined to climb on Mercy... 1. Practice movement 2. Look around all the time to keep track of where each teammate is. This helps if you get jumped, you know where to go automatically, as well as helping know which teammates need help. 3. Use damage boost on teammates with the most opportunity of making a difference either due to positioning or using a special ability like Hanzo's storm arrow, Bastion's turret mode, or ultimates. Also damage boost if teammates don't need healing. If you have a main healer, let them do most of the healing while you enable your DPS. 4. Keep track of enemy ultimates and how you're going to react to them ahead of time. 5. Don't rez just because you can. A lot of low rank Mercy players just rez because it's available and then they end up dying themselves. Sometimes it's better to pretend you don't have rez. Use it if it's safe, don't if it's not. Sometimes a risky rez is necessary, but most times it's not. Ask yourself if you need to rez. You have 10 seconds (a lot of time) to decide. 6. Generally you want to stay behind cover and out of enemy line of sight, as well as in between teammates so you have somewhere to fly and/or in the backline. 7. Using Valkyrie doesn't mean you have to fly all the way up in the sky. And my settings in case you wanna try them... GA Target Priority = Prefer Facing Target Toggle GA = Off Alternate Crouch = Left Alt
