Another visit to Sandwell Fields Sports (Part 2 of 2) with Si Pittaway 

Although these videos are 7 years old they are still great to watch. Shows how wonderful a quality springer shoots and how much enjoyment one can get. While the rest of the airgun world are spending a fortune on Swedish PCP air rifles here in Ireland and the UK. I look forward heading a different direction to the crowd - buying myself a HW98 springer tuned by Tony SFS 👍 At least the Springer has a personality by comparison to a Swedish blonde 😉

Nice review very nice shop it reminds me of the shops my Dad and I use to visit back Victoria when you weren't treated like a criminal just because you enjoy owning and using firearms .Its wonderful to see knowledge , skill and service alive and well wish I was closer.

4:08 HW 98 .22 is the best spring rifle on my opinion. Replaced the spring guide and added a top spring head and replaced the M5 screw nut with a stopp screw nut that holds the trigger. In combination with a HAWKE Sidewinder 30 TAC x42. The best of Weihrauch and HAWKE on my opinion.

Great vid Si, Tony is becoming a bit of a legend. He appears to know the HW range inside out, so, any problems with my HW80k and it will go there. Hope it never does but it's nice to know that there is someone out there who know's what he is doing and can be relied upon.

Sandwell field sports is where I will be purchasing my next rifle from after watching this video. They do a cracking job with brilliant customer service by the looks of it.

i just bought Hw98 after i compared the looks, with hw97 in all its versions. What an amazing quality of the Hw98. I felt i paid too less for such a quality performer. Very glad for having this baby as my first Airgun. Hw97 also great, but to my eyes the Hw98 is the king. For accuracy test....wow....thats all....AMAZING...i stop using my Vepr12 for a week....Good job Hw98....

For years people used to tell me break barrels are not accurate, And i would say HW are the exception, extremely accurate rifles. Never had an issue with zero shift due to the barrel. A fine rifle you have there. atb phil

To be honest mate a SFS tuned HW98 is in a total different league. I know that this will upset a lot of Pro Sport owners but Im telling the truth here. I've owned 2 Pro Sports and as good as they are, and they are good, the tuned 98 will blow them out the water.

I have a HW98, HW95, HW97 and a Pro Sport and as with all my Springers they use AA Express pellets and group like a PCP.

I bought one of the Gamos you were looking at from there before xmas. I am 62 years old and just started shooting again, the light weight was just what I needed. It is proving very acurate and deadly, also it seems at home with all pelletts. I must thank you for the tips I have picked up from this video. You have stimulated my interest, thankyou both.

I have the Gamo bone collector in .177 and it is very picky about ammo. As for the trigger it stinks a lot of creep and a hard pull. You don't see shops like this in the USA a lot of shops that sell but NOOOOOOO service. You are lucky to have people like Tony to go to for service. I find when I mention air rifle shooting hear people just don't get the draw of it due to large bore center fire rifles being so popular and all. Not knocking them since I have owned many of them over the years and hunted black bear , white tail dear and elk but find shooting air rifles a lot of fun and quite a challenge. Just need to find people in my area interested in air gun shooting.

Very nice rifle straight back no flip. It was a nice pointer there about the flip up cover causing issue with the rifles mechanics. I'm lucky my TX allows just enough distance between barrel and lens. Those scopes are awesome for the money I love mine. Good Luck with it atb Alex

Si, i really enjoy your videos. Thank you for the tour of sandwell. I have a strange request for you. Ask Tony if he has gone to a sleep lab and been checked for sleep apnea. I have been a lab tech for quite some time and he has all the the physical signs of a sleep apnea sufferer. Again, a strange request, but if you have the time, and you are comfortable with it, please ask him. If he is not being treated, he most surely needs it. Thank you so much for your videos.

Grreat couple of videos Si. You've slightly shaken my long held belief in fixed barrel rifles for superior/consistant accuracy. I've always liked the 98 but my bias to fixed barrels put me off. I'm ering towards a 98 now but I still have a little nagging doubt about it's long term consistancy with regards accuracy due to it's break barrel. If/when i get over my prejudice toward break barrel guns i'm off to Sandwell field sports for a 98 and i'll get Tony to work his magic on it.

Hi Si. Many thanks for the great vids! For what reasons did you decide to choose for the HW 98 for HFT over the HW 97? Was it partly due the adjustable stock or also shooting technical? Hi Si, great vids as usual and great information passed onto subscribers too. I am in the process of buying a new Hawke Panorama 4-12x40 scope but can't decide between the map6a and the half mil dot reticle. As I mainly use the rifle for hunting which would you recommend?

Hw98 or the Hw97? I can't make my mind up if I would prefer the undeleaver or the break barrel. Love both rifles but unfortunately my bank balance doesn't love both. So I have to choose one. Any recommendation? Thanks

My wife bought it me mate as a early wedding present. For me i find its better for standing shots too.

A rifle with a scope for 169£ cant be a good rifle. You cant even get a good scope for under 200£
