Also, this video was obviously made pre-Fionna and Cake trailer, so that’s why there’s no mention of it. I’ll talk a little about it and my plans for covering the series at the end of my next video :)
Small detail that I just noticed. So, we all know that the Enchiridion is sentient, right? One of it's abilities is that it will lead the reader to the information that they need/want at the moment, since Finn wanted another way to heal his injury, the book deadass just said: "Bro, these nurses creep me out too. Here's a cyclops with healing tears" 💀 First time watching one your vids. Good job bro.
I love this episode. I Iike that the clown nurses fit in with Jake preferring more holistic medicine as well as his enjoyment of teasing Finn, but I think this is also another example of Jake still teaching Finn and not wanting him to become too dependent on Jake's stretchy powers. Even if it's a convoluted way to do it, Jake does want Finn to be able to find his "own way" in life, and is proud and happy for Finn when he succeeds.
There’s a scene in the TV adaptation of Spike Lee’s “She’s Gotta Have It” where the main character states that she needs to start “following her instincts, and not just her impulses” which feels very true to Finn’s h character arc.
as for jake's injuries, he doesn't have bones I mean, it was stated in the distant lands special so you could argue that when this episode came out that just wasn't canon yet, though I feel like any character with stretching power is assumed to either not have bones or have bones so elastic that they can't be broken any way since contrary to it would just render their powers useless anyways, my headcanon has always been that jake is faking his injuries and I took way too many words to explain myself
When in distant lands did they say Jake didn’t have bones? in “daddy daughter card wars” we see all his bones. In “James Baxter the horse”, Jake also refers to his bones as squishy. So yes he does have bones but I agree I don’t think he could’ve been hurt that bad
@@tiablue9106 I don't remember just when exactly but I could swear there was a throwaway line in which he said he didn't have bones, but I might be gaslighting myself here
@@eduardomunhoz1581 maybe ur confusing it w/ peppermint butler saying he took the bones from finn and jake's dead bodies? (for a "bone spell") Also in distant lands, princess bubblegum said she has no skeleton so there’s that too
I just stumbled upon your channel and it was an instant follow from me! There are SO many underrated episodes of Adventure Time that don't get enough love because they're not super plot heavy. I'm so glad this series is still getting the love and attention it deserves.
Yesterday I was letting AT go on run while I sleep and the jumpscare with the bush at the river woke me up and I went under my sheets waking up to that. For some reason this is the 2nd time it happened to me from the same scene. Why the hell is it so loud at 3am lol
I remember when this episode came out in early 2012 and I... didn't take the episode that well back then as a kid growing up loving and watching Adventure Time. Mainly because I didn't like watching Finn go ballistic when letting the Kissing Clowns go into his mind. But I rewatched that episode 11 years later DVD during my Adventure Time binge, and I can now see this episode in a mostly better light compared to me when I was still 10-years-old in 2012. In a time when the third season of the show was coming to an end. That was all thanks to a certain review of the episode from Made2Express that pointed out what made the episode actually good in terms of plot points and so on. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UTH99Keuieg.html 10-year-old me was pretty much wrong now that I revisit my old experience with the episode. And the title cards (OK, unless if we're counting "Water Park Prank") look like paintings on a wall, that it really does look like it.
Another great video A.S.! This episode has always been one of my favorites, and I have always loved that little title card detail! The journey Finn takes being all about learning to take his own path, while also learning to be weary of your decisions and the effect it can have on others is one that hits close to home for me. I'm really looking forward to your next vid! Excited to see what you have to say about the Fiona and Cake trailer >:)
If amplesamuel has a million fans i am one of them. if amplesamuel has ten fans i am one of them. if amplesamuel has only one fan and that is me. if amplesamuel has no fans, that means i am no more on the earth. if the world is against amplesamuel , i am against the world.
I love your vids Ample, so many of these episodes themes went over my head as a child and I can't thank you enough for making these apparent to me now.
I'm not sure why, but when my younger brother and I watched this years ago, we kept repeating "it's the only way" over and over again. It was like our favorite thing to say for a long time.
