It's a amazing what people will watch as a tourist attraction. What a great application of brakes! Coming in low over housing with the bay at the end of a short runway! I'd sit there all day watching them come in. Thanks.
Ansett closed because it was owned by Air new Zealand and they stripped Ansett of all the spare parts to keep their own aircraft flying, the Australian Government turned a blind eye, thus causing the demise of an excellent airline.
what airline would help another airline out thats good if they are going bankrupt because it means less compition and air new zealand is a great airline and its nz's only airline which they need.
ansett collapsed in the early hours of march 5th 2002 after being grounded tempoarily on the 14th september 2001... mostly due to air nz's negligence and stupidity in that they first bought an airline twice teh size of themselves and then starved ansett of the funds it so desperately needed
