Thank you so much for this!! This video was so helpful! Every year I always have Sonlight on my list but never actually come around to using it because it seemed so daunting. I feel like I don't want to add too much to my day. But this video has helped me understand that it is totally doable. You addressed so many of my questions! I think I will be using HBL B next year in our homeschool, but just as our Bible/Literature. I really want our read aloud and discussion time to be meaningful.....and if on top we just happen to learn about history, that will be the cherry on top! It's good to know that I don't have to put aside the history curriculum that we currently use and love. Thank you so much for these videos Angie! You are a blessing!!!⭐ 💖

I actually sat down and mapped out our sonlight levels to graduation. It was super helpful to me because I wanted to do Level F (Eastern Hemisphere). That meant I had to condense one of the passes through world history or American history because I wanted my kids to also get all 4 of the high school 100 levels as well. This was a lot of fun for me to do. Every year when I start looking at the next year I just go over it again and see what the books in each level may have changed to in order to see if I want to follow the plan. So far I’ve not changed my plan and we’re tracking along. I have 4 kiddos that I have paired up and I’ll go through each HBL twice.

Hello!!! I currenrly use CLE and I love it. I alao read ro my kids for about an hour almost every day. So, i have been considering addinf Sonlight's History snd Science. I just don't want to add too much, and I dont want to stop what i am already doing.

I love following your channel!! I feel like we would be friends in real life, haha! I’m halfway through HBL A with my 1st grader and kindergartener. We absolutely love it! Looking forward to next year, my question is regarding my younger. He is a very active, busy little guy. He has struggled with listening, being quiet and really comprehending our reading, while my oldest is thriving with it! Next year I’m debating on splitting them off and having my son do HBL K and having my daughter continue on to HBL B or keeping them tracking together. Do you feel that HBL B increases in reading amount or complexity of content from HBL A? Struggling on not wanting my boy to be “left in the dust” if the concepts and listening amount are just too much for him.

That is so hard! I’m combining my oldest two in a level (they are 16 months apart) and the oldest definitely gets more out of the reading … but I know my daughter is retaining some of it. So I ask myself the same question! Are those your only two kiddos? If so, I think you could split and still handle the reading load but if you have more kiddos to add to your homeschool, it might be nice to keep the top two together. I would recommend calling the advisor line - they are super helpful!!

Hi Angie! So my boys are 6, 4, 3, & 11 months. First, how well do your boys handle all the reading? I feel like my boys might get bored. My second question is which HBL K would you recommend if I wanted to start in January with my 6yo? The American History HBL-K is still available on the website, but should I get the new one with World Cultures? Also, how necessary are the readers? We have lots of little readers already & I don’t plan to use the LA quite yet. Thanks for all these helpful videos!

Hi! My twins are about to turn 6 and they are loving the current HBL-K (World Cultures). You could do American History but it is a bit more challenging, in terms of history. As for readers, they aren’t really necessary but they are great readers (especially level 1 or 2), we used them as supplementary readers usually in the summer 😊

Any suggestions on how to make it more Biblical? I know it specifically states on their website that most of their books are secular. I'm hoping to use Sonlight in HS, but after using MFW I'm wondering if it will be lacking Biblically.
