Ah, I remember how I got into the hobby! I'm really into fashion, and at the time I watched a lot of get ready with me videos. While I was looking for those, I found Andrea's get ready with me video of her dolls, and that was it, my fate was sealed, I needed one.
I keep my dolls under a towel so it protects them from dust and light. I'd use a puffer like they use on camera lenses to blow the dust off the surface of the dolls and then put nylon from tights (pantyhose do you call them there) which will collect dust but stop the hover sucking in accessories from close to the dolls.
Those work really well too, especially around the eyes. Sometimes it can be a little harder to get the duster into the fine features of the face. Thank you for watching and for the tip 💜
Is there merit in altering a doll or her accessories for better display purposes? I have a doll with sunglasses who's lenses aren't see through. I was thinking of carving them out and replacing them with tinted plastic.
Love this video and your collection! 😍 Do you have all your dolls on display? Or do you store some of them? I'm always curious about how other doll collectors deal with storage and what their tricks are. You have a lovely doll room ❤
Thank you! I have a big pile of project dolls that are not on display right now, once I get them cleaned up I have no clue where I'm going to put them, but I plan to do something with them 😂
So many beautiful dolls and great job with their care and organization! I wondered if you ever heard of the artist, Lila Loire? I found her name on the back of a jointed and strung porcelain doll, I bought the doll a few years back from an antique store. If you would like to see a picture of her, my instagram is antiqueknut. I only bring her up out of interest, I was going through a box of dolls and was happy to see her again. The dress is one that I made, she had nothing on when I bought her. Always enjoying your inspirational content,
Neat information. Reminded me that I need to do dusting. Will you show anymore American Girl dolls? I know you said Josefina and Molly are small, but you could combine them in one video. I love seeing other people's American Girl collections.
I will yes, possibly this weekend. Their stuff is a bit more scattered because I don't have a trunk for either one of them, but I was thinking of doing shorter videos showing different bits of their collections. I want to do my AGOT collection too. Thank you for watching 💜
i had seen a BJD at a convention i was vending at oh... gosh almost 10 years ago? maybe more? but the doll was *interesting* but not... it wasnt "my doll" it was just kind of neat? and when i asked about the cost i flinched. fast forward to quarantine... i was watching face ups of monster high and barbie knock offs? (which are so neat) and i saw a face up on a BJD... and i was stunned because it happened to be more my taste. and then i talked to a friend who wants to make clothes for BJDs ... and i started looking at "common sizes" and *stumbled* over some artists and brands that were ... I MUST HAVE THAT !!!! and here we are
I know this is an older video, but do you by chance remember the model of the Ikea cabinets you use in this video? I'm currently storing my Blythe collection on a bookcase and I'd much rather have something with a door like your collection. Thanks in advance if you choose to respond! Love your videos.
Hi! I have a F.A.O. Schwartz Gotz 18" American girl doll Claudia and I'd like to sell her but I have never sold a doll before and I don't really know if collectors would be interested in her. I got her as a 16 year old and never really played with her so she is in a very good condition, in a box that I think is her original one and with all her accessories. Do you think people would be interested in getting this doll and loving her? I have her safe but I think it's a pity how I don't get to enjoy her and she doesn't really get to be loved :(
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls Thanks for the reply! Actually, I've sold a good amount of dolls and clothes on facebook, but I've never sold on eBay and I'm a little scared to do so. But I'll look into it! Hopefully I can safely rehome this doll
