Found Jimmy's channel while in the hospital with cancer 7 years Ago. In that time, he's built an empire and luckily, I'm still here trying to rebuild financially so I can finally be able to drift at the age of 47. Fuk it better late than never.
Can we just appreciate the growth in the channel and business side. I feel like it was yesterday jimmy couldn’t afford anything and was making q and a’s saying he wasn’t sure is RU-vid would work out in the long run. Now he has built a great team around him and is building some my favorite cars on the platform. Props to the Oakes garage team for the hard work, we see you for that.
And fabricator.. spoon is more of a builder fabricator than mechanic.. I’d assume Jimmy has most of the wrench turning under control but welding together exhausts and doing all the body work he did on the 34 is totally different and I’d assume the main reason he’s there.
@@michaeltaylor4271jimmy is letting spoon use shop space for his frs which is a friend thing to do. even tho spoon does work for jimmy there is still a great friendship between the two.
Jimmy is such a good friend for letting the boys daily his cars, i can't imagine someone else letting there homie drive there S15 for a day let alone a week
Jimmy knows, without the boys, he really wouldn’t have all these cars. It’s only right… we all knew jimmy was a real one. It continues to show in almost every video
Jimmy's friends are also employees and probably all on insurance therefore able to drive the cars. It'd be crazy for one man to own ALL these cars. I wouldn't doubt some are "company vehicles" on paper.
Jimmy the stock weight of a S15 is around 2650 - 2800 Lbs so it's close to the Civic now we need a vid of you and Dj cruising and ripping representing the Honda boizzzz ! Aas they say in Japan but maybe convince Dj to get a Centrifugal Supercharger for his Honda so it'd be more even and we can hear both great nosies and as always keep up the great work guys 👍
I feel this so much, it seems like people wanna bash him for asking questions and repeating what the other guys say but he literally didn't know a single thing about cars once so ever before he started hanging around
Looking at those corner weights, you have a 47.28/52.72 cross weight balance on Nissonda. The front left and right rear are carrying most of the weight. Would be a cool experiment to corner balance the car and see if you can tell any changes to how it drifts. I believe lowering either front left/right rear will take some of the weight off those corners or raising the front right/left rear to take more of the weight. Shouldn't change the ride height much since the suspension should just compress more since it's carrying more of the weight. One of those things that I've always known about but don't have any experience to know if it has any effect on how it feels in drift.
Patreon gango. Jimmy the chaser on the lift is hurting my soul. Such a great car. Every car you make is great. Just got a soft spot for the chaser and soft spot for JZ’s. Great video as always. Keep up the awesome work papa Oakes!
@@AussieRevhead a lot of times he posts it the night before and you get more than just the video early, also get access to the podcast, he tells stuff long before you see it in videos.
Crazy what’s happened to s15 prices. In 2016 I almost got one for 16k AUD in mint condition. Then I ended up with a Hawkeye WRX for 13k 😂 I made money on that but still. Seeing R33’s, Supras which weren’t popular here in the early days turn into these sought after cars is nuts. It used to be 32’s and S14’s that everyone drooled over back when I got my license in 2010.
Came to Au last year from a country that didn't allow japanese imports and thought I'd have a better chance at getting an S chassis but it's like damn near both arms and legs and kidneys to get one now 😂
I feel ya. I had an S13 for a few years & sold it for $10k AUD fully kitted out back in the early 2000's. Wish I kept that bad boy. Would be worth a mint now.
"Lets not think about it as Nissonda".. the disrespect Jimmy damnnn.. i love her . Builds like this are my favourite because a lot goes into making them work and feel correctly.. i enjoyed that build series at the time.. b haul is always a vibe ❤🔥
My exhaust guy said titanium definitely makes a big sound difference. He told me it’s very pingy and makes it louder. I was gonna run titanium on my car but after he told me that I just did regular stuff and I love it
Man I had a b18 with a 6262 precision turbo granted it was fwd but tuned at 408hp all it fuckin did was spin the tires that will be plenty in that car to drift! I’m excited to see how Brian does in her
Driving videos suck lol driving is a personal selfish pleasure that doesn’t translate well to film. IMO building and wrenching is legit the most satisfying thing to watch. The fab, restoration, upgrades, performance, power, stance, dialing in, interior, detailed looks into some of the old projects that not all of us have seen. Obvious hooning around and some driving videos doesn’t hurt but the real satisfaction is in building
Would be cool to see another shop crew drift event too, I bet you guys could organize it, get everyone sliding. Does mama oakes still do drifting stuff?. Baby Jimbo may be a bit too small for ride alongs yet but soon!
Please please please do more with NISSONDA!!! Big cams would be the best knee's. Carbon roof with a new paint job. Keep going with the KA and keep bettering the build 🙏🙏🙏
Love your positivity and that you haven't changed your personality because of your success. So many people think they're better than others because they are famous!!! And you remember how important your team is!! Keep up the great content, and never forget where you came from!!! 💯🔧🚗🏁®️
The S15 is my dream car but I know damn well I’ll never be able to afford one but I’m sort of new to this channel so if you get a chance you should run through all the cars you have cause I’m curious about the yellow S15 and the 300ZX
What's better about Haltech? I heard Haltech uses old architecture in the board but Link uses moden stuff..? Unsure, but I do know Haltech has a better sounding limiter
Haltech is great until you have a fault, then it's bye bye ecu, see you next year if youre lucky. Most of the time they just tell you it's your fault and you are doing something wrong.
You should get a cool body kit for Nissonda and get someone to 3D print u " Nissonda" badges give her a little more life Jim ..she basically got ur channel started she deserves it
Is the reason why the stock cams are limiting it is because the heads were ported? Because I’ve seen stock kas heads and bottom bend make 360hp on 15lbs of boost
