I was Fall 2014-Spring 2015 (I extended my first program) and did my program after graduating college. I was merchandise in Epcot for both programs (also in 2014 Epcot also had tunnel but they got removed during all of the construction). Its so interesting hearing about Flamingo Crossing since during my day we were spread out over 4 smaller complexes that were exclusively DCP participants. Also in my day we ranked the roles in our interview and the majority of people got one of their top choices. I got my role at the time of getting my acceptance but didn't find out my location until check in.
I was just accepted for Spring 24! My recruiter told me that I wrote the script for Photopass, so fingers crossed that’s where I end up! But I’m super nervous and now sure if I’ll even be able to do the program bc of my major, even though I’ve always wanted to! Thanks for such good info!! Also, I applied, got a phone interview the same day, did that a week later, and then got my acceptance a week after that. So the process definitely seems more sped up! Plus role preferencing is back!
Any future cp’s……I would say in terms of price- Flamingo is a decent deal. Under $100 in the Orlando area is NOT bad at all. Considering amenities, not paying utilities, and not being locked into a lease. Not to mention you don’t need a credit check or co-signer. BUT if you’re looking for more freedom then yeah go off property✨✨
Congrats. You go girl. Two things, making friends there is easier than any where. Everyone there has the same big interest…Disney. Also, apartments off site might be more expensive. Orlando is one of the most expensive places to live. Flamingo crossings is very nice. Also, your second time they give you better housing…more likely to get 4 by 2.
i'm planning on applying this january for the fall 2025 program! i'm so so excited but also so nervous haha. do you have any specific tips on the phone interview or things to put on your initial application to help your chances of getting in??
I gotta be honest that green uniform you were wearing in the thumbnail looks badars! (I assume you wanna keep comments clean so I’ll say it like that XD)
I was accpeted and am supposed to go soon. Does anyone know if you should arrive right on your arrival date? Should you arrive a few days prior to that?
You mentioned that you want to leave of flamingo for your next program, but aren’t the events and activities that flamingo does for the cps one of the highlights of doing the dcp? If you live somewhere else, you wouldn’t be able to participate in any of them
this is a really great point! I honestly didn't really participate in the cp activities, I was really busy with work and on my off days I wanted to hang out with my friends in the park. I personally just didn't love the cp events and wouldn't mind not being able to participate in that, but I know for some people they absolutely love that aspect on the program so it really just depends on you. I'll also be 22 for my next program and I feel like I will kinda have outgrown the cp stuff by then.
@@bryannehollis what kind of activities does flamingo throw though? Cause I got accepted to the program and now I’m debating going if the activities and events for the cps aren’t that good. Cause I might as well just apply to work directly with Disney rather than doing the dcp
@@Lalabooey you should definitely go!! I know tons of people love the events they just weren't for me! But definitely give them a shot you may love them!!!! It's also a lot harder to get a job at Disney without transferring from CP to full time. I plan on doing another CP before transferring to full time! :)))
hi! i’m finishing up my freshman year of college right now and i’ve always wanted to do the dcp! i’m trying to decide if i should just take a semester off of school or attempt to take some online classes?
I wouldn't recommend taking online classes because you really don't have time in your schedule for it! Most people take a semester off so they don't get overwhelmed
@@bryannehollis What about if you were doing the summer after graduating college? Would it be better to apply for Disney Internships instead that relates more to your major? What are you doing today? Did it help you? Any regrets? My major is in Business and IT so the none of the roles really fit me! Thanks
I am a current freshman in college and am switching my major to hospitality management. I found a girl who goes to my school and she actually did the dcp for a whole year for her 500 hour preinternhip and now I'm really interested. I have thought about doing it since freshman year of highschool, and think it could be a really great experience for me. However, if I am being completely transparent and honest, I have never really had a job and so I don't really have experience to talk about in interviews. I have only ever done baby sitting, dog sitting, and working in a church nursery but other than that I haven't had a real job lol. But i don't want that to stop me from applying for it. Any advice? Also, would you reccomend taking classes while doing the dcp so you don't fall too behind in school, or is it better to take a whole semester off?
Hi!!!! I totally understand, I actually had never had a real job before either! On the application for job experience I highlighted a lot of volunteer work and organizations I was a part of in high school. So for babysitting you could highlight that you worked with kids, in the nursery job you could highlight prioritizing safety and communicating with parents, etc. It totally doesn't have to be exactly "job" related just "experience"!!! That is what really matters!!! In terms of classes, I did not take classes, most people do not just because the DCP is a full time job and you want to have fun on your off. days. The people that take classes tend to be really stressed and sometimes quit because of it! I'd recommend just have the full experience and take a semester off!
