I agree, it's tough for music artists to make it big lately. It's weird because the platforms are there and the audiences are there. I study the music business a lot from a business standpoint and it really doesn't make sense to me that a lot independent artists aren't being able to "go mainstream" like they used to even a few years back. Personally, I think the music business has just changed. This might be a stretch but it's turned into a more "viral" endeavor then just a "musical" endeavor. Just making the best music that people love isn't enough anymore...artists have to literally go further and further "out there" just to make a name for themselves and sell their souls in the process. It's also about niche. You're definitely extremely well-positioned because you make music for video games and video game players are an extremely high-conversion audience. Right now, I feel like that Twitch is the place for new artists to make an impact. RU-vid is kinda dead. New platforms are rising.
