My sister has a pool and 3 young kids. 2 boys and a girl. Ive had this conversation with her and she has taken extra precautions even tho she has a fence and lock. Helpful tip: if you drop an egg (which I have done many times) throw the egg & shell all into a pan crush it up, cook it and feed it to your chickens. A great source of protein and they will love you for it! PS : Carol is guilty !

My kids enjoy when yall talk about River, and the insight they give after seeing Grangers face when you said you wouldnt swim again. There thought was you cant be afraid of the water when you fish, and what about enjoying it with Lincoln. And the other on was But daddy River got baptized before Jesus called him home. And in the mind of a 6 year old hes delightfully right in a way. Smith's thank you for those gentle teaching moments that we all over look, but remember our children overlook nothing. Love yall. Granger, I started watching the Smith's because of the huge battery you put in River's John Deere ride on toy. I haven't missed a video since. Yes, I subscribed and I hit that like button every time. I absolutely Love your family and videos. You have a great family!! I can feel you're pain every time you talk about River. Absolutely devastating! I get tears in my eyes every time you talk about him. I guess I put myself in you're shoes and know how it would effect me. I'd be no different than you, but as you know, you have to move forward for the rest of your family. I hope you are finding peace. Just know you will see River again in heaven. Watching you two, with all the chickens walking around, is like getting to visit with you. My family always had a big Sunday lunch together and all us kids would be running around in the yard playing, no matter how old we were, and all the older ones would be sitting around in lawn chairs visiting. I feel like you guys are my family not just friends. It hurt to see you like this Granger. Riv is very happy in heaven in the arms of our Lord. To know that our loved ones that have passed are with Jesus brings a lot of peace and comfort to our soul. I know every single person here like myself suffers with you guys and shares your pain but also your happiness. God bless every one of you. One day all of us will be in heaven together rejoicing forever and ever.

My brother drowned back in 1995, he was 15. He was rescued but was in a coma for 2 months and my parents had to make a decision. He died 4 days after I turned 4. I love being in pools and such but I’m also afraid of water. It’s definitely something to respect, for sure. If my feet can’t touch the bottom, I won’t go in it without a life jacket. Hopefully your kids will be the same and still enjoy water while being so insanely careful! 💛

I told my junior high students on our last day before we got out for Covidiots 19, “watch the little ones at the pool, lake, creek, etc... even if you think it is not your responsibility. Little kids don’t make good decisions.” I also told them to learn CPR.

Linc's dream about Riv made my heart melt. After my grandfather died, I had a dream about him. I used to hear his voice randomly during the day, too. Definitely a precious memory/moment to hold onto.

OMG!!!! I’m so GLAD that you aren’t Tom Hanks!!!! Sorry, couldn’t help myself!!! You two could both be my children! I’m 57 years old, and I think you both are so very intelligent!! And GOOD, KIND HEARTED PEOPLE!!! You are both so GENUINE!!! There have been many times, that I have came away from your videos, with a wet face, and you both have taught me things!! That’s a pretty big deal!! I never come away from The Smiths or Arise with Amber, thinking I just wasted time! I always feel like it was time well spent!! That’s a big deal!! You two keep me hopeful for younger marriages and parents!! I always think to myself, their Parents have to be so proud!! And I think that because of the examples you both are!! I have questions too. 1. Granger-do you color coordinate which "wedding" ring you wear with your outfits or how do you decide which one to wear? How are the worms doing? if you are moving what are you going to do about the food gardens you just planted? 2. While I understand Granger not ever wanting to swim again, now that Lincoln loves to fish he truly needs to be an above average swimmer just in case. 3. Amber & Granger you are truly an inspiration to me daily, you are not afraid to share the lows as well as the highs in life with us and that is one of the many things that make watching so enjoyable. 4. This is great for warning parents. I know parents that want get 3 foot pools since they don't want to go to the public pools this summer I learned alot about how fast a children can drown.

Im trying to catch up on all these Smiths videos and I know this one is 3 years old already, but this is the first time I have watched it. My heart is breaking watching Granger's face when they are talking about the kids swimming. I can almost see the heartbreak in his eyes knowing he is thinking about River in the pool. I am so sorry your family had to go through this. You are amazing parents. London and Lincoln (and now little Maverick) are precious. And watching all the videos of sweet River makes me laugh and cry all at the same time. What a beautiful soul he was.

Love your constant realness. I've been a Granger fan for a few years, but this past year have just started watching The Smith's and supporting Yee Yee Apparel and Earl. Your faith and trust in the Lord through the trials is so inspiring and is always a reminder for me to trust His plan. I've been watching Granger's podcasts and I'm definitely that teenager that he looks for in the crowd that loves him and looks up to him like he did to Garth.
