I´ve seen thousands of videos about Ansys, and for sure this is best guy. The quality of the video, the speaking, the way he teaches, the absence of errors (modifying if so), the saving time and of course what he teaches. Everything is perfect. Please do not change anything on further videos. Please more videos about Microplane Model.
great job, thank you very much for sharing. For your information, I repeated this simulation with version 2023 R1 and the idea provided in tutorial works. Results are however slightly different - in the first phase it is almost identical as Ansys Inc., then, after reaching peak force reaction the softening happens faster (results go belowe experimental curve), however it is still satisfying. I will play later with analysis settings and check the correlation. Thanks once again!
@@abhishekbv8740 If you are using explicit, just use Body Interactions -> Reinforcement. That will assign the contact of the rebar to the concrete. If you are using static structural, highlight all the line bodies in the geometry and change the type to reinforcement. I believe he does this in the video
@@abhishekbv8740 if you look at 3:47 of this video, he changes the model type of the rebar from beam to reinforcement. This model is static structural. If you are using explicit, you would use body-> interactions reinforcement and apply to all bodies
Thanks for your model, it's really inspiring. I've one question: ¿is this model able to simulate cracking and crushing? It seems that Drucker-Prager concrete is a kind of plastic material since there's not a decrease in its stress when tension strength is reached. What I mean is, is there a way to combine steel reinforcement (via REINF264 elements) with cracking-crushing concrete (via SOLID65 elements with CONCRETE model)? Thanks in advance and br!
I love your tutorials. Your tempo is sometimes a little too high to really follow it in real-time and some more explanations with some choices of parameters would be nice. But still, I'm learning a lot here.
Hi, thanks for the video. But when I selected the "beam" and clicked on "Assignment" the following message appeared "The shared license is currently not available for this application." What should I do?
Hi there I have a question. Can you make tutorial for ACP PrePost for example for sphere? For zone winding of composites. It`s can help me so much. Thank u for your videos.
Dear Dr Daly, I am trying to implement this model but the MPDP plots do not seem to work, I am using the same commands you use in this video in ANSYS 2022 R2 and I get these warnings: For item = ENAME, component = 215 is invalid. The ESEL command is ignored. The requested MPDP data is not available. The PLNSOL command is ignored Do you know a solution for this? I have looked a lot online but solutions such as changing the settings from distributed to parallel etc. do not seem to make this work. Kind regards
Sir Would be you please help with the procedure to be followed to use RESTART analysis to increment the Load in every Load Step. How to create a Restart file
Dear Dr. Please tell me if that CPT215 is better than Solid 65 regarding application of Cyclic loading on RC columns? by other meaning, can it considers the shear reduction of concrete during cyclic loading to can get accurate results under cyclic loading ?
Im trying to make a model in workbench with both damage initiation/evolution and isotropic plasticity, but the damage only gives a zero value when using both, can someone explain me how to do it?
Thank you for your efforts. Can I use this model of concrete in a model of a shear wall under cyclic load? Do you have any recommendations for me in this regard?
Quite a Detailed video. Question: Did you model the rebar as line bodies? How did you create multiple stirrups? Was it using the pattern command in spaceclaim or there is any other better method? Can you share your space claim geometry for clearing other geometry related doubts ourself?
The geometry file is in the description below! you can download it. I created it using line bodies and then using the linear pattern features to copy them spaced out.
Hello sir, I try to follow your video instruction, the message is pop up with "An unknown error occurred during solution. Check the Solver Output on the Solution Information object for possible causes." Could you help me to solve it?
Hi Can you siggest me which is the best software for Greenhouse structure analysis, including the CFD, we use a lot of Metal cables and wires, so how to treat them in the analysis, can you suggest please
Dear Dr Thanks Please tell me : Can Ansys workbench consider the PINCHING effect under Cyclic loading for concrete structures? if yes, please tell me HOW? I need tutorials? if yes, I ask if it considers the bond slippage between steel bras and concrete to can consider this effect?
Why when drawing in Excel, F is divided by 2 Also, how did you get the results of the existing Ansys Inc. and the results of the experiment in the sheet?
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Can Ansys simulate the pinching effect in hysteresis behavior of reinforced concrete beam-column joint under cyclic loading by using available concrete materials in Ansys?
Sir I did same like you but I am getting error during solution check the solver output on the solution information object for possible causes So please help me sir
Please double check you are running the same version as in the video. Many reports of it not working on the latest Ansys version. You may need to downgrade.
Hello sir. I run it and the program shows me "An unknown error occurred during solution. Check the Solver Output on the Solution Information object for possible causes." How can I solve this problem?
Hello, Dr.Dalyo I love these videos...I want to say thank you ...but I have 2 questions: 1. how can I model the geometry and how can import ? 2. Is that possible Reinforced concrete T-joint analysis using Ansys Mechanical APDL19.2? if yes how can?
Very well explained. I tried to recreate the model and managed to run it without any error till 50th iteration. It is showing some error after 50th iteration saying cpu time exceeded. I tried with turing large deflection off and managed to run till 62 iterations. Still I'm able to see partial results. I have some other doubts too. Can we use CPT215 with tetrahedron elements? I saw Drucker-Prager Base model in Engineering data with Uniaxial Compressive and Tensile strength and Biaxial compressive strength. Can we use it instead of the code ?
Hey sir I have a question. I have built a suspension bridge on Ansys and I need to pre stress the main cables of the bridge using ‘INISTATE’ command but I don’t know how to just prestress specific elements. I located the element ID in solution information which is (417 and 418) in my case. Do you mind helping me out on writing this apdl command? Would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Did you ever try RC structure under cyclic loading using these concrete material model?I faced convergence problem when the structure entering highly non linear conditions
Thanks a lot for this video! I have two questions: 1. Why do you change SOLID185 into CPT215? Is this step absolutely necessary? 2. Is it possible to define the Drucker-Prager concrete material model directly in the Engeneering Data and do without the APDL-Command?
Hi Lea! Welcome! So you change it cause the Drucker-Prager model does not work with SOLID185. And no you cannot yet define it in Engineering Data, hence the reason for the commands.
Unfortunately I will not be going over the geometry for this tutorial, as it would be quite long vs value added. You can check my other videos or google how to create line bodies in SpaceClaim to better understand that part. The rest of the model is just a solid that is quite easy to do. You can also model it in another software and attempt to import it.
Hii Dr. DalyO, Moeed Here. I would like to thank you for your amazing tutorials. Sir, I have a question. In your previous video of cracks and crush on RC beam using static structural , you showed your result of APDL Output or Post Output. Kindly can you explain to me about these Outputs and also what the colour in these outputs represents about? Kindly Sir, anxiously waiting for your reply.
Cracking and crushing plots are not available using the new MicroPlane model. Instead, ANSYS points you to their compression, tension, and total damage plots, as shown in this video.
Hello it is in the video description, under references: 1. Chalioris et al. "Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column joints with Crossed Inclined Bars Under Cyclic Deformations." Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics. (2008) 2. Raasheduddin Ahmed et al. "A gradient-regularized coupled damage plasticity microplane model for concretelike materials". Ansys inc.
@@drdalyo Thanks you! I have read the paper written by Imadeddin Zreid and Michael Kaliske with the title: "A gradient enhanced plasticity-damage microplane model for concrete". In section 4.3, they wrote: "As a suggested procedure to identify the damage parameters, D, βc and γc0 are estimated first by fitting a uniaxial cyclic compression test...". They just mentioned D, βc and γc0 can be obtained by fitting but the type of fitting they didn't show detail. Can you give me some guidance to perform fitting procedure to obtain D, βc and γc0. If you don't mind, please explain to me via emal: dinhvanduc06@gmail.com. Thanks again!
Its only used in some cases where Workbench does not support the feature. You can always use ANSYS APDL instead of Workbench. Also to find out more you can check the user manual from Ansys for APDL commands.
Hi! I've done the tutorial step by step and when I'm running the model an unknown model error occurs during solution. The error ir 'Drucker-Prager cap plasticity integration algorithm did not converge for element 7993 and material 46.' Any solution? I've used Ansys V21.R1 Thanks
Ansys employee response: I can confirm that this workflow (CPT215 and inbuilt reinforcements in Mechanical) does not work anymore in 2021 R1 latest rel.. Thus one would need to use 2020 R2. I should add, that this method is wrong so do not use any of this and ignore that video as it is not from us. So CPT215 elements can be used with REINF elements, but we can not have solid186/187 then use ERIENF/REING264, and then EMODIF solids to CPT215 - that is not correct. If we want to use CPT215 with RENIF and reinf264, then that should be done as in our TD54 example in our help manual (concrete joint analysis). So just emsh with CPT215, and use reinf (this is only done now in apdl).
Good day sir. Is the Reinforcement option only can be used for Static Structural and Steady State Thermal? Because when i use it for Transient Thermal + Static Structural it shows error "Reinforcement are supported as release feature only for Static Structural and Steady State Thermal Analysis" Is there other way to solve this?
@@drdalyo thanks for replying sir. just my suggestion.I found zero tutorial RU-vid video for Thermal + Structural analysis for Reinforced Concrete T-Joint FEM using Ansys. Abaqus has many of it. So it would be great if you can do one in future. 🙌🏽
Hi sir, i tried exactly how you did for five times. But still in getting error... It shows "An unknown error occurred during the solution. Check the solver output on the solution info. object for possible causes." Can you please give me a suggestion for this problem ?
@@drdalyo Thank you sir. I'll check with lowest version. And I have one more doubt sir, that I'm getting linear curve when making a load deflection graph. I need non-linear curve which shows ultimate load and breaking load. Could you please tell me the solution for this problem sir ?
