This video tutorial demonstrate step by step procedure for spray simulation by using discrete phase model (DPM) in ANSYS-Fluent. The present tutorial used a plain orifice injection type to simulate diesel spray. Before starting this tutorial it is recommended to watch the Geometry and mesh tutorial uploaded in this channel with the following link:

Investigation of spray characteristics is always a challenging task due to its micro-scale parameter. Spray characteristics can be defined based on spray penetration length, spray cone angle and sature mean diameter (SDM), which is quite difficult to measure experimentally. The discrete phase model is one of the capable numerical models which can be used to investigate spray characteristics. In this video, detailed steps has been discussed for spray simulation with the use of discrete phase model.
Diesel discrete particle has been injected in a simple 2D axisymmetric geometry. Injection parameter involved orifice diameter, mass flow rate and vapour pressure, which can set with the use of Injection model.
