In the third video of the Dynamic of Structures playlist, we discussed a scenario where a structure could vibrate independently without any external load or damping. We demonstrated this through an example problem, where we used the principles of structural dynamics to explain the phenomenon.
This video will take the same example problem and model it in Ansys. By doing so, we can obtain a more detailed analysis of the system's behavior and compare it with our previous results. We will examine the structure's natural frequencies and mode shapes and investigate how they may differ from the theoretical values we calculated earlier. Additionally, we will explore other factors that may affect the system's behavior, such as damping and material properties, and discuss how they could contribute to any observed discrepancies.
Overall, our goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of structures and how to analyze them using computational tools like Ansys. Stay tuned for future videos in this context.
