Really nice tutorial : slowly getting up to speed here... Any idea why the Equivalent stress only showed on the surface where the Force was applied ?
@drdalyo
@drdalyo 4 года назад
Make sure you select the whole body for the scope of the equiv. stress. You may have selected only the face and that is why it is only showing you that face. Ensure the body filter icon is selected, select the geometry, make sure it all turns green, and hit apply when selecting a new equiv. stress solution.

Hello, thank you very much for this wonderful lecture. I have a question in the ANSYS program. I want to prepare, for example, a superimposed material in the form of a layer consisting of two materials, the first is fiber of any kind, and the other is a polymer material, with dimensions of 10 * 10 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. How do I calculate or how can I enter the volume fraction values For both subjects in the ANSYS program, for example, the first subject is 60% and the second subject is 40%. I hope you will help me in solving this problem. I mean, how can the volumetric fraction or weight ratios be calculated for each subject in the ANSYS program? With appreciation

@drdalyo
@drdalyo 8 лет назад
can you try the test yourself if you have ansys!? wel if there was a material instead of a hole, then the stresses in the area would most probably be reduced.
@jawaddahmani7038
@jawaddahmani7038 8 лет назад
I mean how can I add a material instead of the hole with ansys ?
@leandrovelard577
@leandrovelard577 8 лет назад
You can do an array with two bodies instead of 1 body and in geometry you can select de body by one and add different materials for one or an other.
@drdalyo
@drdalyo 8 лет назад
+Jawad DAHMANI you can create another sketch, and use a sketch projection and create a circle of same size and then extrude frozen. Or you can create a plate with no hole, then sketch a circle and do a slice material extrude. See some of my other tutorials, i show how to create multiple bodies

Is the force always applied on the symmetrical/opposite side of the fixed support? And if so, why is thAt?
@drdalyo
@drdalyo 8 лет назад
No not always. But if you took a physics class you would know the basic laws like newtons law f=ma, so if you apply a force on one end and fix the other, where both forces are along the same axis, the reaction force will be equal and opposite to the applied force because the object is at rest (static). Maybe refresh yourself on this before jumping into finite element analysis. Google stuff like Newtons law, Normal force, etc. thanks for watching!

Best introductory tutorial for ansys out there. All of the other tutorials seem to not know what "introduction" means.
