The possibilities of the instrument, stretched to the limits. Brilliant performance. Besides, the unusual combo of five violas works surprinsingly well. For this particular piece, the middle range of the viola is up to the task. Bravissimi!
I've always said and thought that I don't like modern music, but recently I've been listening to some interesting, very unusual pieces, that make me reconsider. This one is remarkable. I could picture something sinister happening before my eyes... the sounds made themselves into a story. Maybe that's why I couldn't turn this off and go watch anything else. Fascinating. Even the bow swishing was unexpected and made me wonder what potential can an instrument have, that haven't been explored yet.
This belongs in an Alfred Hitchcock film... Great performance from all of you, very interesting. I can’t say I would add it to my playlist however lol. That being said I don’t think that the purpose of this piece. I reiterate, great job from the performers
The performers are solid, and I was on-board with the concept until about 4:20. I think the piece required too much explanation for it to be truly disturbing and upsetting, but I was really hoping to be unnerved and I really wanted it to work! Bravo all the same, though!
Modernity has gone too far. What a presumption to think that a lot of random sounds can be considered music. I'm not afraid to say that's THIS IS NOT MUSIC!!! AT ALL!!!
