@jaun74 to be 100% honest I have no idea. I just know for a fact dc or baltimore ppl listen to him. I mean I have no idea. You know these are hood cities so if you not from a hood it's tough to be included. It's alot of artist from here that ppl just don't listen too. They good but its the rep like where you from and if you can't thoroughly answer that you going to have to get ppl like ant to vouch for you.
@@boardingpassbtv damn that’s crazy.. it’s sad, crabs in a barrel mentality is gonna forever hold the city back. I just got out here about a year ago. Met quite a few local artist who said the same thing. People in this city would much rather see you fail but would support any outsider much faster

@@boardingpassbtv I mean yeah you get that in almost every hood, but that’s just it.. it’s a neighborhood issue and not a city wide thing. I feel like this is less of a thing in the west coast and the south. You may beef with neighborhoods and they won’t support you.. or you may be a transplant in a city where they show love to locals but none for outsiders. For a city to be this well known and thriving you’d think it would be different. Then again it maybe like that from DC to New York cuz them niggas out there be dragging each other down too. That’s why the south has been in command of the music industry for about 2 decades now.
To answer academics question towards the end about why people don't love Wale in his area like they do J cole. Sad to say as a DMV native myself, folks out here are more in competition with each other than they are trying to HOBO 😒 u get it? I don't live in the district but DC definitely has a crabs in a barrel mentality in the community, just like a lot of other parts of the DMV. Wale is a legit artist and this dude is out here losing credibility for himself, by speaking dumb sh!t. He literally made my point saying "DC ain't for DC" sad but true.
