I was sawmilling last week. Because I have been leaving the bark on the spotted gum (it has been too dry to knock it off easily), I have been getting a lot of wood borers in the sapwood. As I process the logs, the borers are falling out everywhere. I have had birds and marsupials fighting each other to get the borer grubs. The antechinus in this video is supposed to be nocturnal, but I guess the opportunity to get so much food was too tempting. None of the animals seem to bothered by coming very close to me and a very noisy mill either.
