I love when I have to admit that I don't have a clue who the guest is because I actually learn so much about the skate industry that I wouldn't have ever known. Can we get Chris Gregson on? I have his board in my collection
Skateboarding should be thankful for enthusiastic people like this responsible for the coverage broadcasted to the world! He still holds the passion for sure.
I have had the pleasure to shoot stills beside Anthony here in Brazil and I can't say enough good things about this guy, generous, nice, no attitude whatsoever. Just a straight up great human being.
Yeah Anthony! I remember when you came thru SB with Gershon and Frank. Gershon was on a tear at that time. Kf'd (heelflip?) the La Colina double set. People still don't even mess with that set these days! Huge!
u should do a David Byrne style episode where Chris interviews himself but Roger keeps interrupting because he actually knows more about Chris's life than himself. as the episode works up to Chris getting on chocolate, Kellys laugh irritates (the host) Chris Roberts that his head explodes. the show cuts to a quick girl skateboards commercial and the episode resumes with jeron taking (the host) Chris Roberts place and finishing the episode. no one mentions (the host) Chris Roberts head exploding. the end.
Holy shit forgot to mention his stories about filming Quim Cardona were awesome too. His part in Real Non Fiction is a classic. One of the best styles ever. Can we get Quim Cardona on the show?
Incredible episode! Seen Claravall's name all over the credits of every video. Finally I get to place a face to the name. Now I feel like I know the dude. Such a sick story to hear how he was basically the official liaison of skateboarding in China. Incredible stories.
Yooo.. Anthony this is the only show that I don't skip even just for one second. Was meet him when he got a tour to Jakarta - Indonesia several times. Not much to talk. But he's definitely one of the coolest dudes out there..
A lot..since the 80s we already have skaters here coz theres a US military base here back then & their kids introduce skatebording to us. Ive been a sk8r since '89 here :)
@@allanreyes5520 Thanks Allen Reyes. Actually, I already knew there were a lot of skaters in the Philippines. I spent 12 years in Manila documenting and filming skateboarders; there are a lot of spots and a lot of plazas to skate. Unfortunately, those spots and plazas must be kept a secret until the time is right.
Yup. Pepsi skate team demo in 70s is how our neighborhood got turned on. Later that year, the movie "skateboard" with leif Garret and a very young tony Alva. Lol
In 84 or 85 Tony Hawk won the Pepsi Challenge contest on the Pepsi Ramp. It was local to where I lived at. That's when I was first aware of Tony Hawk. Did not have a skateboard at this point but my neighbor had one. Might have been a NSA contest sponsored by Pepsi and the Pepsi Challenge
That's so wild I was actually in that YMCA skate camp video too, kick flip the pyramid for sure. I remember those camp fires with ray barbee playing guitar.
Hey @KellyHart I was at skate camp the same week as you. I remember Jerry Hsu and Marc Johnson were there, and it was right when they started Enjoi. Also the Spitfire team was there and we all got free wheels. I won the beginner division in the high ollie challenge and got a pair of Orion trucks, and then at the end of the week I won a Chocolate board. Remember MC Tavi? He had a rap that went "I do a kick flip, I do a nollie, MC Tavi" Did you every try the launch ramp into the Lake?
2:51 minutes in, oh NOW "It's getting a little weird" Love ya Cristopher! Side note congrats Yuto first street Olympic Gold in front of his home crowd. Kelvin and Jagger as well!
