AJ hiding his marked up face behind those shades… he has never done that before. He always been complementary of Derrick James reaching him new defensive techniques haha
Starting to grate on me this guy. Playing Mr Nice guy but we've seen through the cracks a few too many times now. Plus he's clearly scared to get hit. It will be dangerous for him to step in to a ring with Wilder based on this fight.
You make me laugh, not all boxers enjoy getting punched in the face how does he being pleasent grate on you have a look in the mirror, him being a "nice guy" does not impact on your life so why you bothered ? Don't that say a lot about you 🤔
Like he was 'pleasent' at the weigh in, or his selfish rant after Usyk beat him for the second time ? As for getting hit, he's a boxer, if he's scared to get hit then surely he's in the wrong sport ?? He's over analysing every single second and it's leading to too much hesitation, top boxers train hard obviously but also heavily rely on their instincts which is what he seems to have lost.
Stupid comment, a cautious boxer is the worst opponent for Wilder, just as likely to take him out with a counter as Wilder is to connect with a Windmill!
@Griff78 caution I agree with but he is so far beyond cautious at this moment in time. Wilder won't hold back and give Joshua time to figure things out. He will go at him all guns blazing same as Ruiz only with a longer reach and a much harder right hand.
Hey, Joshua. I'm a fan of yours, but I found it really distasteful that you did the 'suck it' chop after knocking down Helenius. He's not Fury or Wilder. He was your sparring partner. Moreover, he agreed to step in as a replacement at the last minute. You owe that man gratitude and more respect.
I think it was directed at the naysayers and not at his opponent. They hugged its all good. You gotta understand the amount of pressure that's immediately lifted after knocking that guy out had to be huge once again. So don't blame the guy for giving in to his first thought.
This life is crazy! People are never satisfied at all. If AJ, goes points then they all want a knockout. Now that he’s knocked out the guy, he could have done it earlier. Give him a break! Jeez, you don’t have to support him but don’t hate.
AJ is an incredible human. Genuinely a nice guy if you ever meet him. Has done wonders for British boxing but haters are always seeking to put him down. Still behind you champ a great knockout.
@@chrisaguirre4771 don't be a hater. He beat Charles Martin, then attained the IBF/WBA/WBO/IBO/Ring Magazine belts along the way. Beat Parker, Povetkin, Klitschko, etc. When he lost to Andy Ruiz he then rematched and won the belts back. Appreciate his quality.
@@boltonpete6093 none of those guys were legitimate champions. Charles Martin won the belt after the other paper champ tore his knee and retired from boxing. Klitschko is the closest thing he fought to a champion but Klitschko lost the belts to Fury. The only legitimate champion was Wilder when he defended against Fury then Fury when he beat Wilder.
One guy can end a fight in the blink of an eye even if hes getting washed. The other, a jittery, boxing technician that rather fight francis then fight usyk. Aj has a chance with both because he shows up well prepared win or lose.
Hellenius was paid up to be KO'd - to make AJ look good...but AJ looked shit and was getting his face jabbed off by a guy who wasn't supposed to hit him...that's how bad AJ is...lol
Nah this isn't about being nasty, if you've watched aj through the years you'd understand where the disappointment is coming from. He doesn't realise how good he actually is.Ruiz took a part of his soul and he never got that back..the aj we see today is not the old aj. Its an under confident, scared aj we see now. That's why it's disappointing...the guy could've finished helenius easy if he wanted to.
Having watched the fight, I’m not sure what AJ and his camp are trying to achieve. The inability to throw combinations, the lack of killer instinct. It honestly looks like he’s scared of getting hit with a counter and remains coy, throwing a jab and then a right hand. If he adopts that style against Wilder, he gets KO’d. if he adopts that style against Fury, he will get his head jabbed clean off
He said 35 years old is at the end fury has just turned 35 I hope to see him fight again. Will we? Be a shame not to see josh and Tyson not fight we all want it. Congratulations on the win 🥇
Anthony if you are reading this I beg of you to not fight Wilder. I genuinely fear for your health if that fight happened. Money isn’t worth your health mate.
This dude has the best resume in the heavyweight division (Usyk is better overall) and that is why he has the losses to show for it. He shows up, never ducks and would have given us 3 fights this year if Wilder was game. Hats off to him.
When I was an Apprentice Brickie, over Half a Century ago now, 😟 i was always told "don't Criticise 'till You are Qualified son"...I reckon the same applies to Boxing.
See how Joshua celebrated in the ring after the KO . You was meant to win , the guy was fighting on a weeks notice & had no chance really of beating you , what a joke of a celebration
Lets be honert, he wasnt letting his hands go and was waiting for the perfect right hand shot. He cant have that approach with Wilder. Fury had the correct approach and rough wilder up, closing the distance and not letting wilder get throw his bombs is the only way to beat him.
I’d love to see Joshua smoke Wilder as he’s a dickhead, but I don’t think he has the movement to get into position to land without being wiped out himself. I just can’t see it ending well for Joshua against Wilder. He’d have a better show against Tyson Fury IMO as he could probably take more of his shots and possibly land some bombs on a less mobile version of Fury.
Facts, only way you beat wilder is get close and clinch every time wilder goes to throw his punch. Drain him and then land your bombs on him. But only fury as the mentality and size to do that.
Tbh hats of to both fighters but helenius started to fatigue after round 5 and rightfullyso after a week's notice and only fought last weekend . Could see the ko coming but a warrior for saving the show
The win is the win ! Let’s shut up about gun shy and confidence….it’s probably everyone harping in about it that is contributing to this issue , if it even I s an issue. Let AJ be the AJ he is now and let’s continue to wish him all the best fight by fight , a win is a win is a win ! That was a Banging KO too !
Perfect example of fame and a bit of success going to someone's head. Who remembers the humble, respectful aj who was a fighter? This guys just a showman, very wwe
Did you say a bit of scuccess? I am sure you aren't half as successful as he is. Joshua is successful in every sense of the word. Olympic gold medalist, 2x unified champion, multimillionaire, hall of famer, honored as an officer of british empire... above all, he is young/handsome and would still have lots of years to enjoy his wealth. Only a few people can boast of such level of success... I am sure you are not one of them.
AJ doesn't have to live up to your expectations. Your negative look and words mean you are a hater. You will never be able to achieve what AJ achieves. So have more respect, if you have any respect in you at all. You don't have to be a fan of AJ. But a hater says a lot about you.
@eugenem.4481 and neither are you. But you clearly missed the point, seeing as you've taken it to a personal level, rather than seeing the point I made that, when he was at his best, he was humble and respectful, he probably didn't underestimate his opponents. Get that version of him back and he'd instantly be everyone's fav and a top boxer again
@henrimuller3894 rich asf coming from you 🤦 if you were capable if reading without taking such a Karen view, you've seen that I said he was a fighter. As I said in previous reply, when aj was humble etc he was at the top of his game, beating klitschkos and the like, it eventually got to his head and he became complacent til he got beat by ruiz. Not a hater but notice this happens alot with fighters, they get cocky at the top and someone else targets them. Stay humble, stay respectful and you'll end up more like lhabib. BTW I love how you slated me for respect while were discussing how aj needs to get his respect back and you were far more disrespectful than I've been. New age attitude for ya 🫡 good luck your gens fked
If he beats Wilder next, you'd say the same thing. You'd say Wilder is washed and passed him prime. What you are is a hater, someone goes into a type of match (last min replacement) that has gave him 2 losses in his career. He was supposed to fight Jarrel Miller (Who BTW failed drug test) and settled for Andy Ruiz and he lost!..... Fast forward to when he reclaimed the belts, He was supposed to fight Tyson, the fight didn't happen and he settled for Usky and lost again. He was supposed to fight Dillian a shorter fighter, prepared for 12 weeks, but Dillian failed the drug test, he got a late replacement Who's taller than him, came thru and KO'd him neat the 7th round. Never looked like he was in trouble one moment of the fight, saved the fight card, came thru for the fans who have paid and travelled etcetera.. At a point you idiots have to start letting AJ off the hook, he's here and competing, Gypsy Queen over there offering people 90/10 purse splits, ducking Usky for an undisputed fight. Wilder over there doesn't like loosing and when he looses, there's an excuse. You have Hate it but AJ is the only decent Heavyweight left and is the one carrying boxing since 2016/17.
Didn't that "journeyman " win several championships and doesn't he currently have a 32-5 record? He's beaten some quality fighters as well. Quite good for a journeyman.
Robert just got KO'd flat by Wilder not too long ago. Only 7 days notice to train for Joshua? That's a tough fight. Props to Robert for stepping up. Too bad the Whyte vs Joshua fight didn't happen.
A bit of a non fight up until the devasting knock out, which proves AJ has still got it. He just needs to improve his self confidence. If he goes into the Wilder fight so apprehensive, then he'll get knocked out within two rounds. We need to see an ultra aggressive AJ from the out set if he's any chance of beating Wilder. Just ask Tyson Fury.
Everybody that has had success with wilder was apprehensive. Fury the first fight should’ve gotten the win and he was apprehensive. He couldn’t be touched until the later rounds. Ortiz was apprehensive and until he made a footwork mistake and gave wilder room to get comfortable on the front foot he was winning. Wilder isn’t a sharp shooter 24/7. He needs a mistake to happen. Aj being ultra aggressive is how he will be stopped in two rounds
Lol. Ultra aggressive will get him chin checked. What do you guys think boxing is? Is wilder there to watch AJ rough him up and knock him out? It’s funny.
I kind of went of AJ a we bit but he is bang on here and who ever is dumb enough to think a 7th round knockout in the heavyweight division isn't good enough don't know boxing, and it's these YT reporters need to stop asking stupid clickbait questions.
You don't know your boxing my friend. That was a set up fight. Hellenius was there to be knocked out. He did not throw any big shots all night...he just jabbed AJ and gave him a bloody nose...even the knockout,..he gave AJ all the time in the world to coil and deliver the KO blow If he fights like that with any of the top guys, he will get his head boxed off or KO"d...no doubt whatsoever... Let's not get too carried away with that set up KO...Hellenius took a payday to make AJ look good...but AJ made hard work of it...
Well done Joshua. Joshua took his time, won every round except maybe the first and then KO’d him with a monster right. The criticism for AJ compared to other boxers is crazy.
I agree with what he said. Hes spent his career listening to how journalists and "fans" say he should fight. Fuck them, do your thing. If it annoys people they wont watch...O2 looked pretty full
I have some observations about Anthony Joshua's style. He appears too wooden and lacks the necessary movement in the ring. The Ukrainian champion highlighted this flaw perfectly. Joshua's rigidity is evident, and there isn't enough suppleness in his style. He seems to be waiting for that one big punch rather than employing a more varied strategy. If he were to face Deontay Wilder, I genuinely believe that one solid punch from Wilder could rock Joshua to his core. Joshua doesn't possess the movement of a seasoned boxer. He seems to rely heavily on feedback from his entourage, who, in my opinion, might not be giving him the candid advice he needs. It's reminiscent of the 'Emperor's New Clothes' scenario. The truth of his capabilities will be exposed when he faces a top-tier opponent. The recent fight seemed more like a warm-up, and Joshua's attitude is concerning. He often speaks about the expectations of the press, but I think he might be projecting his own insecurities. I'm eager to see the next twist in this saga. Will he avoid Deontay Wilder and choose another easy opponent? It's starting to feel like he's following the Frank Bruno path, where the focus is more on the spectacle than the sport."
Let's face it: Tyson Fury shattered the preconceived notions and dispelled the image-driven influences in boxing. He's a straightforward, no-nonsense fighter, yet it seems he hasn't received the revenue he deserves as a champion. The same can be said for the Ukrainian champion. Both Wilder and Joshua have been carefully crafted in their public images as big hitters, perhaps overshadowing the true science of boxing. This is reminiscent of boxers like Mike Tyson and Azuma Nelson, who had grit and were willing to face any challenge. Promoters have commercialized the sport to such an extent that it revolves around money. Boxers get trapped in this web, starting to believe in the hype. But when their careers end and the money is counted, they often find themselves missing the true glory of the sport. Many end up struggling emotionally. The system is rife with corruption."
Big punchers like Wilder can only deliver those big shots if you come on to him. The power is dissipated if he is walking forward . AJ would just need to jab and be patient for the moment he has a decent uppercut that stops Wilder
M obviously an AJ fan and thats why i have something to say, i personally think boxers perform better against better opponents.I have seen this happening in every sport like soccer where bigger teams struggle against minnows, yea those are expectations you right
AJ doesn't have to live up to your expectations. Your negative look and words mean you are a hater. You will never be able to achieve what AJ achieves. So have more respect, if you have any respect in you at all. You don't have to be a fan of AJ. But a hater says a lot about you.
His face was busted by a 40 year old journey man, who had just fought last weekend. So what do you think Wilder is going to do to him, everybody expected him to get Helenius out early. Why? because Wilder did it in the first round not so long ago. Did you see Chisora vs Wahington? well Washington beat Helenius a few years back, so thats how poor this man is. Yet AJ has a face, that looks like he has been is with Usyk again. Tyson Fury is the most skilled Heavyweight we have seen for an Heavyweight his size, he avoided Wilder so many times, yet still got put down by him 4 times. So how is AJ a fighter who is nowhere near, the skill set of Fury, going to avoid being hit. Now people are starting to realise, why AJ has never been put in the ring with Fury or Wilder. There is zero reason for Fury or Wilder to ever be worried about AJ, the Ruiz fight proved that. Hearn has been very clever, in convincing AJ, everybody has been avoiding you. He has deluded AJ, in to thinking he is better than what he is. If Hearn felt AJ was so great, why did Hearn want AJ to give up a belt, so he didn't have Usyk as a Mandatory. The reason, is Hearn knew AJ wouldn't beat Usyk, yet AJ in his head, felt he could. All because of the yes men around him, so if Usyk was not Mandatory, you would not of seen that fight. If Hearn had his way, AJ would of given up the belt, so not to face Usyk. So yes AJ has made tons of money, yet Hearn has misguided his career. If he would of had been in against better challenges earlier in his career and lost, he could of learnt from it. How at 33 is he going to learn now, the answer is he won't. People can say what they wan't about Fury and AJ, there'sa reason Fury is no 1. AJ won his World Titles agianst Charles Martin and was given home advantage. He was then up against Parker and agian was given home advantage. While Fury, had to face an 11 year unbeaten Champion, in Germany. Then had to go and face a 6 year Champion, who was unbeaten in nearly 40 fights. Also away from the comforts of home advantage and going to America. Not once but three times, let also not forget, the punishment Fury took. Could you see AJ getting up like Fury, well we know the answer to that, look at the Ruiz fight. So we have one fighter, who beat Charles Martin and Parker, while the other beat Klitschko and Wilder and is still unbeaten to this day. Also lets just add, Fury has won every belt in the Heavyweight Division, he also won the british Title from another unbeaten fighter at the time. It was the first fight with Derek Chisora, where Chisora wa unbeaten and was favourite in that fight. Watch what Fury did in two fights, to a prime Chisora. If Eddie Hearn had Fury, he would be doing vidoe's everyday. Saying his the best of all time, nobody can match him, he would be loving it. AJ is a solid heavyweight, he just isn't on Lennox Lewis or Tyson Furys level.
If a stand in fighter can step in take AJ 7 rounds and cut him after only fighting a week earlier says volumes. ...Wilder or Fury will wipe the floor with AJ. Dillian Whyte would've gave AJ a good rematch but we'll never know. The best boxers take the best fights always and never avoid opponents but this is the flavour nowadays. Bring back the Mike Tyson era when the best fought the best 👌🏾
@@johnwarrior7009 You cared enough to leave that dumb reply. Hes not wishing, nowhere did his comment even look like a wish. Look how hurt you are by it though. A comment on the internet really crumpled your knickers. "dont say that aboutmy AJ!" LMAO @ You simps. AJ v Wilder is only going to end one way and that is with AJ being KOd.
He should retire. Good punch for the knockout but he’s technically inept. Not that’ll he’ll lose any sleep over it but he lost me as a fan after the Ruiz Jr rematch. He would of lost that if he would of properly engaged. Whyte would have gave him some problems last night.
@@johnwarrior7009 smashed up by a fat Mexican replacement fighter, ran around the ring in a rematch, hesitant against Pulev, hesitant Usyk twice and hesitant against Franklyn.
He beat a guy who stepped up late notice and was totally gassed after 5 rounds. No need for high fives or stroking each others winkies here... and whats with that gesture when he knocked him out.? No class. Joshua should have checked on his welfare, publically thanked his opponent for stepping up and said no more about it.
while people are slating him what would you do if you had been through what he had been though its easy to sit back and chin stroke from your arm chair and not the ring. lets be honest if you were still able why would you quit if you could make some money to provide for your family and not have to work or worry about money after you retire ?
In all honesty you all slate AJ but he’s fought twice this year and then going in for his 3rd fight…. At least he’s keeping the division going unlike that other pathetic waste of space
AJ will never be the same as he was before the first loss to Ruiz…he has lost his confidence, his aura of unstoppable power…he is unlikely ever to lift a world title again imho….pity
OK, so Wilder knocked out Helenius within 1 round, and AJ knocked out Helenius in the 7th. Sorry, but you learn nothing going in there and knocking people out quickly. AJ was right to get the rounds in and then the knockout.
Done the job, was a little tentative, not sure he is mentally ready for Wilder. Honest interview but he seems a bit down. Fury would ruin him in the build up if that ever happened.
Once heavily knocked out, fighters struggle hugely to mental fight the same tactics again- step forward AJ , it’s all there for you to see , he can’t get him mentally in a positive where he can attack , like he did before. Sadly , wilder will stop him.. I’m sure he is a nice gentleman but he has that “ killer “ mindset and that doesn’t come back , knock out or not last night
