Right? Like just seeing him on a board is a treat in all its own. But skating is so big it's not just about speaking to real skaters you have to be a nyjah huston to matter. Unique style isn't a big deal anymore. I hate the new high waters look. But i guess to each their own.
My friend Ryan and I hook up sea port with those metal angle irons back in the day. I never thought it would become one of the biggest skate spots in NYC. I've skated with all those guys. But I think Rodney Torres was the chilliest.
Pops is a legend!! Hey Bobshirt don´t you make more videos? Stevie W, AVE, Kerry Getz, Mark Appleyard, Kevin Taylor, man you need make more of this series, its just amazing bro
"I have no social life because of virtual reality" YEAH! Amazing quote. Video Days is to blame for my social dysfucntion. Quoting Willy Wonka to jocks didn't get me "cool" points. thank god.
I think & I say think I met him at Fdr back in the 90s. Was so long ago. Real quiet guy. Nice guy. Didnt skate too much. I think he was tripping on me cause I was pretty much a barney back then. I would pretty much do speed carves & slash grinds. Typical 80s vert rat.
Yeah some boards could be warped. Some flow skaters sell their shit but I wouldn't support that. Basically go to your local skateshop (not zumiez or something in the mall)
Holy shit… can someone PLEASE tell me which video Pops’ pro ad plays in? The ad at 6:50 played in TWS vid or something back in the day and I just got the gnarliest feeling of nostalgia seeing it in this interview.
