Long story, I know. But point being, it was Burke who protected him all of those years. I personally believe he was on borrowed time as soon as he killed Jerothe. Batts and the Karen Hill rape finally pushed Vario over the edge to where he got tired of protecting him and Vario wasnt going to appease Burke anymore bc Vario was also considering eliminating Burke due to all of the negative Lufthansa heat that Burke brought and bc Vario suspected Burke’s involvement in Hills drug dealing
