I feel like someone needs to clear this up because a lot of people are confused on why he didn’t get his fiancée to play Liza’s part if she is also an actor/can dance. The song is about a relationship that Anthony was in before he met/started dating Jasmine, his now fiancée. It may have confused people even more into thinking this was how their relationship started out. This song is about a toxic relationship whereas Anthony and Jasmine are in a healthy one and it would’ve possibly made people think that they weren’t (For any confusion on why it comes after all the songs about Jasmine in the album read the replies, a few wonderful people explained it for me :D) ((Update: not rly that healthy anymore- he cheated))

There are people who don't take liza seriously? Shes incredibly talented and mature and driven for her age. I've never seen anything but that. Being goofy just means she knows how to balance all that.

Okay...to everyone getting upset because this is Liza and not Jazzy: 1. They are actors 2. All the songs on his album are based on real stuff, so this would be BEFORE Jazzy anyway 3. If you actually listen to the lyrics you will understand why it's not Jazzy. It's about a girl playing with his feelings, an unhealthy friends with benefits "relationship" . Not about his fiance, the woman he loves most. I feel like that should be obvious.
I gasped when they started making out, I was like "LIZA?!?" Not because of the David thing but because that's a side of her we don't see that much- she is usually VERY PG, like there was moment in a vlog where she was concerned about twerking on camera but did it anyway, for a while she wouldn't even cuss in videos but eventually got comfortable doing it here or there. Bro this was a collab I never knew I needed. I've watched Liza since I was young and only really knew who Anthony was a year or 2 ago from Hamilton but his music is fire and he doesnt get enough recognition for it which sucks. But since the collab with Liza I hope more people start to listen to more of his music and stuff

I’m watching this and I’m OBSESSED! The song is so catchy and means so much to me personally...I’ve been in this situation so many times, where you want a connection with someone you care about to be more but they say no. Both Anthony and Liza are such amazing actors and depicted this perfectly. When Anthony looks at Liza, it actually looks like he fell in love or he was hurt. The camera work is also incredible and complements the dances! 10/10, would highly recommend
This is a great song but there’s NO WAY to take Liza’s face seriously, when you see that many ‘comedy’ skits of hers it’s like impossible to take her out of the box. I just see her face and think she’s joking 😂

Love getting to see this narrative from a male perspective. I think often times we only see women deal with the confusion and toll that comes from being in an “almost” relationship. We don’t often get to see situations of male vulnerability as well. Connection can be so beautiful but so complicated when it’s confusing for anyone. Love this ❤️
@@angeliemedina748 this song is about a pretty toxic relationship he had in collage, it's not about his fiancee so I totally get why he didn't want to have her in a music video talking about a shitty relationship. But Jasmine (his fiancee) is super supportive of him, I'm pretty sure she was in the studio while they were filming and she met Liza and gets that it's just acting. Besides, there wasn't really anything that bad in the music video, they're both actors who have kissed people and had sex scenes on screen and the whole shebang, I doubt she cares.

I love this for many reasons. One of the main reasons is because we get to see a side of Liza that we don't normally get to see. And I love that she was so comfortable with doing this. I am so happy! And this song is killer. ❤❤
All this attention on Liza (who killed it) but can we talk about how FIRE Anthony Ramos is? I’ve been obsessed with him, this album, and Hamilton in general since I saw the cast do a zoom rendition of Alexander Hamilton for that girl on SGN. His part made me week at the knees
Relationship is about a girl who uses Anthony for just comfort and hoot hoot, she keeps it to herself while Anthony wants something real. Mind over Matter, is talking about how it doesn't matter about the sex, it's about how much they love each other hence the title. This is why Jasmine (a queen) is not in this music video. 💜
