To be honest, I am very pleased to see a video of older women and not the youngsters we see all the time. Must admit though, the products used are too expensive for me, I"ll make do with my faithfull eyebrow pencil. Thanks anyway hon xx
Agreed pricey stuff. You can use other products and long before the brow stuff was around we used mascara. Eventually thin eyeliner pencils came to market. Even a mascara from a Dollar Tree works. There are YT videos comparing DT to other brands so do not be afraid to give it a try.
Kathleen Cassidy Yes,I was glad to see these videos for we more mature women... I am 57 and have plucked my brows since 16.The style then was a bit thinner and not so"bushy" as seems to be so lovely these days.My untouched pre- touched brows were beautifully naturally thick and I wish I had them a bit more nowadays. But I have a great basic medium thin/thick shape that eventually needed none but scarce plucking of strays.I am grateful for these videos to give me tips to fill in just a bit more and still not look as though I'm trying to look 20 again..Nor to the other extreme of scary painted on dark clownish ones. There is a happy medium and I'm going to find it!
Kristen - I loved/love how you did this brow, as your models eyebrows and lids could be mine ( it looks that way)❣ I can't believe I totally forgot about the spoolie, gel eyebrow shaper. With most vids using a heavier hand with make-up, for women in their '60's, your vid is refreshing. My eyebrows went up, lolol, when watching you color the brow as I do it the same way! I hve more confidence in my brows, and how I define them, after watching your tutorial. I recently turned 60 and love it more everyday. Thanks for working with us older 'girls'. At 60, we can still, easily be "fresh faced"
Nice demonstration. Thank you. It's a good idea to view lots of videos, this one included, to find what works for you. PS: I can't do my makeup without a magnifying mirror.
Sorry, but not the best shaping. Actually when we age the fullness in the front end is what goes missing. Also one brow tends to drop on most people so symmetry needs to be brought back and in some cases requires a bit of work to redesign, but once done voila.
twominutetips Lizzie Sangi have to agree with both of you. Not the best shaping and no eyebrows are not twins and unfortunately this ladies eyebrows - ONCE FINISHED - I STRESS THAT - didn't look like they were even related. It could have been the angle she was holding her head in the final shot, but to me they look very different. Sorry, not trying to be a troll, just telling it as I see it. Perhaps better camera angles might help in future?
I never really leave a comment about all the ways that I watch but I think her name was Christy. She was demastraing how to fix eyebrows and every products she used she put the price beside every thing she used. I don't know if you realise they were very expensive and alot of people go and watch and see how they can save money. You did a great job, but can't you help the people who can't afford the products you used and maybe use products we could afford Thank You
To me, her process or routine seemed to be very complicated and more importantly-expensive. I get an eyebrow wax each 8 to 10 weeks to maintain the shape and form. I try to keep up with strays or new growth in between. Since my brows are shortening on the ends, I try to fill in and extend. NYX has a nice cheap wind-up pencil, with a spruilly brush on the other end. This looks to be an Anastasia knock-off. Sephora has a similar one, too.My complaint about this tool with all brands is that it runs out too quickly. Using it every day, you will not have it more than a month before it is gone. But it does work well, filling the bald or even parts naturally and the brush helps, too. We are talking approx. $20 which is a good price.
Hello Kristie Striker we both got the same last name i think. Lol. I liked they way you did the lady's eyebrows very nice and smooth shaping and coloring strokes. 👍👍👍👍😉😀
This is a great transformation, but do you address my problem in another video, perhaps? My hair has gone to salt and pepper and is mostly silver in front, but my brows are still dark and full. There are silver hairs in them as well. Also, they are shaped differently (my face is rather asymmetrical, something I have NEVER seen addressed). Help?
Yep I know .ho to Tjmax or Ross or Marshalls..that's where I try to look for inexpensive makeup products . Jojoba oil or any light quality fragrance free oil im sure is just fine.
Christy, could you recommend makeup for us older women on a low income that doesn't cost so much. I always had men stop and said I was I guess someone to look at, but I am losing that, ha, ha but I know I don't have it anymore. Could you help? thank you for helping me, I hope.
Lorraine Becchetti It's easy, girl. We all hve trial and error but the most important thing is hving confidence. There's nothing wrong with Maybelline (L'Oreal bought Maybelline, Payot bought L'Oreal- yrs ago), their products became better. I like the "spoolie gel", for eyebrows, L'Oreal had one. There are millions of cheaper eyebrow products flooding Walgreens, Family Dollar, ...... Get out there and try an item or two from lesser priced brands ! Thaz the only way you'll find out. Cover girl is another. You're gonna pay at least $10, bottom line
Why did you fill in the outer part of the brow so heavily? I could have done better. Those products are way to expensive for most people, and senior citizens especially. I find most so called eyebrow experts and the main makeup companies don't know what they are doing.
I'm 70 year old female. I have thick curly hair still. My eyebrows are thick and heavy and hurts to tweez. Really hurts to tug out because of large follicles. But what's most annoying is that the hairs now grow straight out instead of laying flat against skin to shape. I cut them because they stick straight out and can actually grow quite embarrassingly long. Any suggestions?
FlopsyGuitarBunny Yeah that's true but when you're older you really need it. I know I do but I'm not lucky enough to even have as much natural eyebrows as this lady does. But I'd look like I have a giant forehead if I didn't have the filled in brows. This look, if you were way younger would definitely look overdone.
You didn't show the eyebrow gel you used. You only talked about always using an eyebrow gel first etc. and then the camera skipped because the next frame you are showing a mousse and when should you use THAT? I'm so confused right now ??? Next you're using a pencil and explaining that and it made sense. Dunno what to make of the whole thang:( I also have great difficulty 'cos I can't see a thing without glasses. Don't say a magnifying mirror. I have a super strong one but they're not glasses. Did somebody just prank me about product prices as well!!
You know I really hate the Before & After pictures only because the before pictures are always dark no makeup and then your after pictures are brighter I would just like to see something side-by-side were I can actually see the beauty you created not something manufactured
What do you do with those crazy silver brows that begin the stick out of nowhere 😂 pluck them or dye them? The older I get my brows don't behave or grow the same and are turning more grey. Older Women on a budget remember when we were Teenagers and Younger Women with brows and looked like a the Bomb under $10.00 for Everthg included for our night out.
If you were really an eye brow expert, you would tell Sharon to throw away the tweezers for a year and let more hairs grow in...but I suppose you can make money from those over pluckers.
