Thorough video with lots of info. I heard or read somewhere that the FAA has stated the placement of the night time flight anti-collision on the drone is to be on the TOP. Is that still the case, or is that accurate? I see a lot of lights mounted on the front of the legs, yet that doesn't really provide optimal visibility for any potential manned aircraft that may be flying above. Please clarify or explain when you can. Thank you in advance for your time.

The FAA doesn't specify where the lights need to be placed; it just says that anti-collision lights must be visible from at least three statute miles away. Most people mount the light on the top, but the key is to make sure it can be seen from 3 SM away, along with the other guidance they give regarding the lights. And thanks for checking out content out!

Is there a standard placement for the anti-collision lights or can they be placed anywhere on the drone? As long as you can see the drone from 3 statute miles

Hi! There is no standard placement since drone designs vary. Most people will have a light on the top and bottom to ensure it can be seen. I hope that helps answer your question. Thanks for checking out the video!

You didn't cover Recreational flyers!

Hello, and thank you for taking a look at our content. The same rules apply regarding anti-collision lights for recreational flyers and commercial drone pilots. So, if you are recreational, you can follow our guidance and be good to go. Please let me know if that addresses your concerns or not. Thanks!

Hello, we were actually not paid to create this content. Lume Cube is the brand I have used for my drones for many years and it's the one I recommend to everyone. Since it is what I use, it is the one I shared in the video. I hope the information was helpful, and sorry you felt it came off as a paid commercial. Thanks for the feedback!
