-What to do in Antigua Guatemala
* Climb the Cerro de la Cruz and enjoy the beautiful view that you have from there, if you have a car you will have to pay 5 quetzales for the parking. Here you can see the whole city of Antigua and the Water Volcano.
* Visit the Convent of Santa Clara: Located very close to the public laundry is the Convent of Santa Clara that is worth visiting. It is a nostalgic site, which having been left in ruins by the earthquake that ended this city makes it a perfect place for photographs and carry out social events such as weddings or fifteen years.
Entry: 40 quetzales foreign tourist
* Know the Fish Fountain in the Church of La Merced:
This fountain is the largest in Antigua Guatemala and it has a diameter of 27 meters and a form of water book that you can see complete from the roof of the church.
This church is highly valued for weddings and social events, it is one of the few buildings that endured the earthquake of 1773 due to its robust architecture.
* Take your photo in the Arch of Santa Catalina
This tourist spot is undoubtedly the most famous and photographed in all of Antigua. And it is that the composition that is formed with the arch, the volcano and its cobbled street is something that you want to take in your memory forever.
Previously it was used as a corridor for the reclusive nuns in the Convent of Santa Catalina and thus avoid contact with the people of the city. Currently the arch belongs to the municipality and the convent or what was left of it is a hotel.
* Stroll through the central square, the Cathedral and the Handicraft Market El Carmen
Both in cities and small towns we always find a central square where its inhabitants will spend a rich afternoon in the company of family, friends or with the couple and in Antigua is not the exception. During our tour we also enjoyed the sound of the marimba and seeing how people danced and had fun. Nearby is the Handicraft Market "El Carmen" where you will find great variety and you can not easily decide what to wear, since the detail and colors attract a lot and you will want to take everything.
