Antique Chinese Temple Cabinet 

This wonderful cabinet is from the province of Shaanxi in central China - home of the old Chinese capital Xian. Crafted over two hundred years ago, the black and red lacquer surfaces of the cabinet remain in remarkable condition, while the delightful, deep carvings around the frame, drawers and panels are distinctive of furniture from the Shaanxi region. Ornamental motifs of flowers also embellish the two front feet and the cabinet is a testament to the skill of the craftsmen who produced it. Only a limited number of these pieces were ever produced, and they are now highly desirable investments. Measuring approximately five feet in both width and height, the cabinet requires a substantial area to display it, but will certainly add a majestic touch to any space.
