Welcome back to my channel! Today's video is a trash to treasure with recent thrifted finds! Always remember you can transform any item when you're out thrifting! :) Thanks for watching!
I love all of your ideas! I want to decorate my house. But, I don’t have the imagination to get it like I want it. I will be using some of your ideas. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I liked the canisters. I was thinking to paint the lid and the top portion of the canister in a regular paint, then tape it off and spraying the bottom portion with the stone look. That would have looked good, too.
I just your style of farmhouse. I’m obsessed the farmhouse look too. Love love your channel. I’ve still got to look at your house tour on living it country.
I absolutely love your style. Just a FYI~ I really appreciate that you take us through the whole process: thrifting a piece, how to paint it, and then displaying it in your home. All three are fun to watch and helpful. Keep your videos coming please. (I'm sure you are really busy with an upcoming wedding and work but we will be thrilled with whatever you can post)
Get some Durham water putty (it's a powder) or automotive Bondo... tape over the back of the hearts and fill them in, then sand smooth. I learned that on Ginger Chick Rehab. No more 80s hearts😊
*Suggestion* Any time you are painting over a glossy finish always use a primer! I also highly recommend finishing the project with a top coat such as Matte Polycrylic. On chalk painted projects, use Varathane Finishing wax. I feel that when you put time and effort into flipping a piece, you want the finish to last, even if it's the "chippy" look. Great finds and flips!
Thank you for understanding. My comment was not meant to be mean spirited, and I appreciate your checking into it. I'll still be watching, yours is definitely one of my favorite channels now.
Hi my name is michelle i'm from the twin islands of Trinidad & tobago in the caribbeani love watching your videos they give me so much inspiration i just loxe your style and you're so cheerful keep up the good work .
Just came across your channel today, suggestion stand a little further back when spray painting! That stone texture/color gives it a totally different look when Lightly covered.
I found your channel from the Living it Country home tour you were on. I am obsessed with you videos! LOVE you style, fabulous thrift finds and you provide some great ideas!
Truly loved your style and how truly real you are about your trial and error with the pots which BTW if you want to try to redo them again it is so cool to do the baking soda paint mix method and you get to control how much texture you apply on them or any project you use that technique with. Have you seen the IOD crockery stamps or transfers that bring these types of items a very high end crick look to them? They are a bit more expensive than usual stamps but they are very much worth the shelling out for them as they are re-usable and made of top materials that will last you for years.
All your items turned out beautiful! Saw your home tour on Living it Country and saw your items had been competed for it. Absolutely beautiful Genevieve! Every thing makes me feel comfortable farmhouse. Thank you .❤️Leslie. Ps: thank you for well wishes. Surgery went well yesterday. It’ll be 6-8 weeks until I can completely go back to my normal life. Watching your videos has helped!
Love everything ! If you find wooden cutting boards that you actually want to use for food. Wash them up, let them dry then coat them with cooking spray or oil. Wipe with a paper towel and they are good to go. I display mine in a multiple plate wall hanger and grab one as needed.
I love how the stain really brings out the cut marks from prior use. Note to anyone who is making cutting boards for display purposes... use an old saw blade or knife, etc. and make some cut marks on the new boards to make them appear old and used. Excellent!!
Hey Genevieve, im a new subscriber..love your Goodwill hauls and you decor looks amazing in your house...i love anything farmhouse and antique looking...tfs 😊
Its a great name! It was my grandmothers name and my niece's name and I chose it for my confirmation name. And my daughter also wants to name her daughter Genevieve someday! Maybe it will make a comeback!
Ohhh, that was marvelous!!! I 💕💕💕absolutely love your home and these projects were fantastic. I’m a new subscriber. You are so inspiring!!! Thanks for excellent 👍videoing and directions. Love ya😍🥰
Hi Genevieve. I love all of your shows. Would you leave a link for me to watch a tour of your house? Your dining room table is to die for and I want to share the video with my sister. Thank you
Love your ideas! I really like the texture of the stone spray paint on the canisters. Maybe try dry brushing a taupe/beigey color over them to make them look more like crocks. If it doesn't work out you can always respray with the stone spray paint. Found some good stuff at my local Goodwill this past Sunday. I'm off tomorrow so I'm going to hit a couple Goodwills and a Restore about 35 minutes away!
Your flips turned out great! If you wanted more of an antique look to your canisters the Waverly Antique wax would work great. I have found with the textured spray paints to do a base cover first. 😉
Fun video as always! I recently used the Rust-oleum stone spray as well and it was horrible! I used an entire can basically on one clay pot which was already a gray/stone color. I used the ivory colored one but the coverage is not what is advertised. And it's sticky and stays sticky. Very disappointed with this product to be honest. Maybe if I had primed, I don't know. Yours look very pretty. Maybe they don't have a tacky texture because you primed? - probably!
Genevieve, I want to change my decor to farmhouse. My colors are not traditional farmhouse they are browns, creams, and touch of teal, sea glass, green teals blue teals. I have watch tons of your videos and others but now I am confused. I guess my question is Where do I start???? I know you are busy and if you can't answer me I understand. Thanks for the joy you give me. I appreciate you an time you spend showing us all the wonderful thing that you do. Take care. Hugs Sheryl from Greenwood Indiana 💙💙
If you have Facebook, my first recommend is purge the things you don’t love!!! Facebook marketplace is fantastic! Or donate :) then you can start FRESH!
I love your mug rack on the wall behind you. Do you have a video about it or just a quick description? I would like to talk my husband into making it for me!
could you please put the link to where you got the towel holder that is beside your sink, I watched your home tour on Holly`s channel but didn`t see the link. Thank you! love all the trash to treasures, looks awesome!
Love cutting boards. And crocks. Saw sexy legs in back of your filming, The cork coasters look good but i like wood more dark. Hugs and love, Janet 🐈🐕🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 Just heard Texas is 100% open and no masks. I'm jealous in Ohio.
@@genevievelynn737I didnt think you lived in Texas, I just want all of America to open with no mask. Come on Dewine open Ohio 100% no mask. Yes, your sweeties legs. When is your wedding going to be?
You were too close when you were spraying the canisters with stone textured finish. Pull back and go side to side and do light coats. Try this next time and you will get better results.
Now that you are pregnant you should wear a face mask. I forgot you are a nurse. But I’ve been waiting to see you pregnant since I started watching you. I like to be safe for yours and the baby. Please wear a mask. Thank you
I just found your channel, so this is my first time to watch. I really enjoyed the video, however, I turned my sound up to hear your voice, but your music that you play when you show your finished product was SO loud. I had to turn my sound up and down throughout your video. Other than that, your video was great.
And thank you for watching ❤️ Going to do some research on that and see why it keeps happening! I have the music down to like 10% and it’s still SO LOUD 😤
Ohhh, that was marvelous!!! I 💕💕💕absolutely love your home and these projects were fantastic. I’m a new subscriber. You are so inspiring!!! Thanks for excellent 👍videoing and directions. Love ya😍🥰
