Sharing some cards I picked up at an antique mall and at a card show with some RU-vid friends. Please check out both Jason and Mitchell’s channels Jason @EverydayCardCollector-Jason Mitchell @whitesoxfancardcollector
All great cards n some cards I've never seen B4. Never knew Deacon Jones 1st is Dave! Great Rose n Spahn Cards! Strange to see Bobby Orr as a Black Hawk. Good show.
Nice pickups all around Steve! The Warren Spahn Red Man is awesome! Pedro! Love that guy! That Topps Super Pete Rose is a beauty! Bobby Orr! 😬 I still cringe when I see her m in the Blackhawks jersey! 😂
Both you and Peter B cringe Jim! I get it though, every time I see Steve Garvey in a Padres uniform I do the same, it is just not right! Appreciate you watching, enjoy the rest of your week!
You had quite the weekend haul, Steve. Nicely done! The Spahn, the Broadway Joe and the Rose were my favorites, and the Orr at the end was very interesting. Wish I could've seen Orr play -- his stats for a defenseman are just ludicrous.
Really cool seeing so many different sports, I appreciate that. That Thurmond is a steal and I really like the Lanier rc. That's just wax residue on the Reggie Smith 2nd year. Just wipe it gently with a super thin dress sock or panty hose. Should be some videos here to show how. Also, if you are ever in the Muskegon area, there's a great antique mall called "Anything and Everything". I believe you can even sometimes see what their vendors are selling through their social media. Great stuff!
I think you are right on the Reggie Smith it looks like wax residue, I will give it a wipe! I have had a lot of luck at antique stores in Michigan, if will definitely check that mall out if I am in the area! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
I’ve been looking at a Nate Thurmond for a little while. I love the 71 set and you found a great card and a steal for $3. I wish Vintage basketball got more love. Oh well, more for you and me! The Spahn Red Man was a beauty. The Tiger was awesome. I do the same motion after I drain a put for a triple bogey, haha. I’ll need to check out that antique mall out. We spend a lot of time in St. Joseph, MI.
Thanks Andy! I love that you appreciate vintage basketball, Thurmond was a great player! How often are you in Saint Joe? Any good cards spots there? John P lives in Kalamazoo and we have been talking about going card shopping when I am in South Haven, would be cool if you could join!
Great video, Steve! Tons of cool cards here that you found! I do love an antique store find! Love the Pedro love the Nate Thurman, the hockey leader Card is pretty sweet too! Just tons of cool vintage, the Reggie Smith, gold cup, Pete Rose, Joe Namath, Bart starSteve thanks for sharing
Wow, that redman spahn is sweeeet!!!! Congrats for that bad boy! Love when you buy another card and say, couldn’t pass that one up! lol! Great Tiger card, can’t go wrong with that!
Always enjoy looking at someone's pick-ups. Love the Pete Rose. Just wondering if you could share the title of the Yogi Berra book. Sounds like a book I would like to read. Love Yogi. Thanks again for the video.
Steve, I NEVER find good cards at an antique story. You're lucky. I love that Deacon Jones card. I've never seen it before. I remember Nate Thurmond. He stood up well against Wilt Chamberlain too. I never knew that Kareem said that about him. What a compliment! I think that Warren Spahn card is my favorite. It looks great! I thought I was the only one who thought trading Pedro was a good idea. hahaha. At the time DeShields was the missing piece of the puzzle. Man, was I wrong there. Thanks for sharing so many fun cards!!
Thank you, Rick! Thurmond did play Wilt tough, when he first came into the league he and Wilt were on the same team can you imagine that? At the time DeShields was supposed to be the missing piece and Ramon Martinez was better than Pedro!
Gave a video like. Really nice pick-ups! Spahn Red Man with tab is really cool! The '68 Topps Reggie Smith is a really fun card with the rookie cup. Thanks for sharing
Hi Steve, What a great variety of cards! I haven't seen that Orr before-who issued it? It's interesting that it's a reverse negative. Orr is definitely on the Mount Rushmore of hockey players. I don't have any Topps Supers, but I think they look fantastic. I love the colorful backgrounds. The Red Man Warren Spahn is a real beauty. The artwork on those cards can be hit or miss, but they nailed it with the Spahn. The cropping on the '65 Philadelphia Deacon Jones is fascinating; it really gives the impression that he's lunging right at you. I love details like that. The '68 Topps Reggie Smith is my favorite card of his. I read an ESPN article a few days ago that ranked him as one of the 10 best hitters of the '70s. A strong case can be made for that, though I wish he could have stayed healthy. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Terry, I am not sure who issued that Orr picture/postcard I don't see a name on it. Reggie Smith was a stud, when he was with the Dodgers he and Garvey were the two best hitters in their line-up! Appreciate you watching, enjoy the rest of your week!
