Good morning Mary :) I too love going to antique malls for nostalgia reasons, I even tear up when I see things that remind me of my grandparents who have gone onto glory. I have several dollhouses that I’ve built, it’s a labor of love, but so worth it. My love for them stems from when I was little. My daddy got really sick one year and couldn’t work and my parents didn’t have any money, so my daddy had a friend with a little girl my age and they bartered.....her dad paid for the materials and my daddy built two dollhouses. It’s one of my most prized possessions. My mom made furniture, pictures, lamps and all with her own two hands. I will forever collect miniatures and have dollhouses now, it’s ingrained in me.

I’m nostalgic as well. I’ve always felt that I don’t “fit in” with my generation. I long to live in the days of my grandparents and parents. But I know that the Lord is in control, and had me born at the right time.😊

That headboard would make an adorable trellis for a climbing rose bush or other plant.

When I saw those cups with the little birds, I said, "Get those, Mary!" I can see that headboard turned into a gate so I know you'll be able to make it into something glorious. I'm sorry that antique headboard/footboard was so expensive as I was picturing it turned into the cutest bench. Loved this vicarious outing!

That headboard if you don't use it as a gate would make a great trellis for a climbing vine.

Ohhhh, that was fun! When you put the $6 green bucket back on the shelf I wondered why you didn’t get it since it would be perfect for your home. Glad to see you bought it! I 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 the bird cups. I would definitely have bought them. I think the garden gate is wonderful. You can hang a wreath on it....maybe include the green bucket in the wreath with some white tulips??? My husband died of Covid three weeks prior to this segment. He owned a black YUKON Denali, very much the same as Mary’s Tahoe. He named it “Black Jack.” It’s bittersweet to see this vehicle and I admire her because I sold his. It was too much vehicle for me, but like in everything, Mary conquers life again. “There she goes antiquing in her “White Jack!”

My husband and I live about 2 hours away and made a trip last fall. Went to most of the thrift shops you listed and loved them! So we decided to go again with a better plan. Well, we went on..... January 6th. Yes. We didn't know it was the Amish Old Christmas holiday and most Amish thrift stores were closed!!!! Oh well, we made the best of it and simply enjoyed the day at the Antique stores. O my gosh! I just saw the silver canister set like my mother’s. It took me right back to the house where I grew up. I can just picture the cabinet where she kept those canisters. I like antique stores for the same reason you do...the nostalgia. I used to take my kids with me and tell them what things were, especially if it was something my parents had. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. BTW-Those metal, cage things are from poultry feeders.

All the cups are pretty and such a great idea. I do that with my Mother’s crystal bowls she left me. I make a candles in them... and the reflection from the cut crystal in stunning. Such nice Antique Malls you have. Probably a good thing they are hours and hours away from me... saw many treasures for sure ! Enjoy making your gate out of headboard! I know you don't like color, but a long colorful picture would look good there through my eyes! Perhaps more of your taste, a large driftwood sculpture of sorts to give dimension. You could still use it for your jackets and whatever you care to hang 💭

Can't wait to see what you do with your headboard! I've always been nostalgic too Mary! When the weather gets nicer, I am going to get my great grandmother's old pump organ. It doesn't work anymore, but it is beautiful. Such wonderful memories of my great-grandmother. I've known about her pump organ, for years and now I get to be the caretaker!

I love the Ginger House. Its wall color and the wall lamp. So cozy and warm.

It seems to me that memories like light are a force made up of particles or waves. Just like you when I go into a place filled with the remnants of the past I feel like my memories connect with the memories attached to those old things. It's a very real thing for me and I love it.

Estelle here, Walt's wife. We live in WI. near Eau Claire and I'm jealous of all your antique malls! Later this month we will go to the largest antique store in WI. in Columbus. It is huge!

That headboard is screaming, "Please, Mary! Plants California zinnias around me!" How beautiful that would look in August! We used to the plant zinnias by our fence row in northern Indiana. It was a spectacular sight! :)
