Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪. The little monk Michelle picked up is actually a "Münchner Kindl" - a "Munich Child" from Bavaria. Munich was founded by monks. And monks traditionally brew beer. That's why Munich has a little monk with a stein on the coat of arms. Even the name München comes from the German word for monk (Mönch). The Münchner Kindl is traditionally played by a child, since the 1920s even by a girl😊. The framed German stitching was a house blessing (Haussegen) and says: Divine house blessing Where there is belief, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is blessing. Where there is blessing, there is God. Where there is God, there is no need. "Noth" is an old way of writing, today it would be "Not". So definitely an antique piece.
Oh my gosh, I've been in OR for over a month visiting my sister. Thought about a U-Haul trailer, and the smallest one is SO expensive. There are many things I'm leaving behind that are going to haunt me, but at the same time I am taking home some great treasures!
My car is full! I have a bunch of glass hurricanes that I am bringing to my daughters wedding next week in Chatanooga...so I will have some room once thats over, but when you are traveling on the road for 2 months you end up needing alot of stuff!!!😁
