Robert's cause of death was sepsis, caused by the ill-fitting brace which he unfortunately could not feel. Today, he would be cured by a course of antibiotics (perhaps both IV and oral), and medical treatment could help with his out-of-control pituitary issues, to finally stop his uncontrollable growth. Such a shame those options didn't exist in 1940.... 🙁🙏
