Taken from a off air broadcast from the 20th February 1994. Sadly, the intro and credits are not on this video because they were cut off. More Episodes coming from series 16. Thanks for watching.
This was one of the classic finds on the Roadshow - all that silverware of the best quality brought in a shopping bag collected by the deceased father, who gave no indication to his family about his marvellous collection. Items appraised throughout the programme. Brilliant!
Always wanted to see the full version of the silver appraisal. Love the dreds. I have read that this collection was under a bed in shoe boxes for a number of years as the wife had no use for it and was upset hubby was spending money on it.
I remember seeing this episode at the time it was first screened and recognised the guy with the dreadlocks straight away so I had a vague sense of what was coming. I know enough to appreciate the workmanship in the items a lot more now than I did then, so it was a great joy to come across this episode again. Thanks so much for uploading.
This silver collection is the programme I remember above all the others. The expert did not need to try and generate artificial excitement or be unnecessarily loud. His quiet professional amazement was enough.
Am I correct in my calculations? T he gentleman with his father’s wonderful collection showed about 96,000 pounds worth of objects? I’m from USA and curious as to worth in US currency and also probably ignorant as how to correctly cite British currency values. Thanks for any feedback.
