3 pieces of Chinese Armorial Porcelain (early 18th C) from the PB Cooke Collection go to auction at Elstob Auctioneers in Ripon, England
Chinese Armorial Porcelain was very popular with high society and the super rich of the 18th century - family coat of arms would be drawn and sent out to the potters and painters in China who would then create dinner services and display items painted with the family crest. The whole process could take years to turn around and was highly expensive
