The nicest girl from work asked me to help her with a translation. She gave me two dozen oysters, (her family business it's a farm) This is the first time i don't have them served to me. So... thank you! The screwdriver worked like a charm!
Hi again! Thanks for the kind words - I'm lucky enough to have an amazing editor who really makes me look good! I really appreciate your engagement and support! -Al
Amazing video! Pork rinds for panko was genius! Hug a vegan had me crying, and I wasn't expecting you to actually get the ice bucket! Great twist. You might want to let people know that they can use a bed of salt for the oysters if they don't have a special pan. 😉
Haha glad you had fun with it! Good idea on the salt - I used that for the ACME Oyster video a few months ago. I have a few other oyster videos planned - I will make sure to point it out in the next one. What’s your favorite oyster recipe?
What is the link for the Oyster Tray. Maybe I missed seeing it but would love to get one. I just subscribed to your channel. You said your BGE temp was 250 degrees F. Were you cooking direct or indirect?? I loved the video!!! Keep them coming!
Hi Joe! Yes I was cooking at 250°F over indirect heat. I made up a kit to show you everything I used for the oysters - you can see it all and pick up any of the individual items here: kit.co/EatMoreVegans/oyster-safe-shucking-kit - don't worry you don't have to get the whole kit. Thanks so much for the kind words, and for joining my little family here! If you like oysters on the grill I have a couple of other videos (ACME and Drago's oysters so far), and I have plans for more unique grilled and smoked oyster videos coming soon! Here's the oysters playlist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kSxbs8wxYE.html
Hi Aexia! I am so much happier with ground pork rinds instead of bread panko! If you want to see what I do with Kale, watch my "Manliest Man Steak for Men" video :-). Thanks for watching!
@@BehindTheFoodTV Thanks Al, I am good and focusing on RU-vid. Here in Canada, it is very slow. Another lockdown, vaccines are coming slow and most of the places are closed. Hoping to get my permanent residency soon so I will be able to start something of my own and not being dependent on others. Being on visas in times like this is not pleasant but hoping it will be over soon. Joyful to see you and until the next time 🙌✌
Looks amazing 🤩. Best Rockefeller I’ve had was in New Orleans. I’m originally from Louisiana and Ironically the best oysters I’ve had is from here in WA.
I actually thought of you when I decided to make these! Of course Oysters Rockefeller originated in New Orleans and I think it's a matter of pride for chefs in NOLA so no surprise they were the best you've had. Did you ever try the chargrilled oysters at ACME? Also pretty amazing. I recreated there recipe here if you haven't seen it already: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kSxbs8wxYE.html
Hey Brian! They really don’t need to be “cooked”. The heat is really about warming up and melting the cheese and the spinach topping. The oysters aren’t in the smoker long enough to cook through anyway. Thanks for watching!
Hey it was fun for me, what is wrong with you, just a little cold water on a hot summer day? I didn't see this video the first time I was looking for Oysters and did the Acme which was fantastic. I guessing you like cold shucking since you did this on the other two videos. Ok, I wouldn't want cold water poured on me either, but good job Leah!
@@BehindTheFoodTV my birthday?.. it's on Nov.. but thanks for remembering tho. I was about to add some more comments here.. Oysters: hehe..with these shells I possessed these Meat Crazed nuts won't eat us after all.. *Charles Bronson lifts up a shelled vegan and aimed at his mouth.. Bronson: Do you believe in Jesus?.. Oyster:.... yes?.. Bronson: well.. you're gonna meet him... *NOM*
@@BehindTheFoodTV you said a few minutes then said you’d be back to check on them in 15-20 minutes. Guess that’s what he means. Didn’t catch what temp you said you were cooking at. 225/250? Higher?
There's nothing wrong with being vegan or single (I am neither), there is more harm in being overweight. I enjoyed the video until you brought up the book. A lot of recipe books are not catered to single servings and tend to get wasteful, so it's actually a specialty, rather than being catered to sad crying people as you assumed.
@@BehindTheFoodTV 😂 No, but really, hear me out! Oysters and mussels don't have a central nervous system or brain, therefore they're incapable of experiencing pain, emotions, or sentience. A lot of vegans eat bivalves for this reason!
