I remember Joe Pyne from this interview, that I watched in the early 70's. Joe's transgression was not letting his guest expand on his thoughts, and as a host trying to play up the absurdity of his guest. Joe couldn't have done better because he didn't understand the assignment. Also, sadly and quite depressingly Anton had another mainstream interview later on. He looked miserable and defeated. I believe he actually took what he did seriously and his followers did what they wanted, making a mockery out of him and crushing his spirit. I can only imagine how many children suffered, I believe Anton's son did, vaguely remember him talking about his father, and not in a good way.

Brutally executing people isn't the solution because it sets off the insanity switch in us, and it causes people to keep craving it. The Romans did it. Yes, take a good look at their history. Brutal execution is very insidious because it starts out working, but later on people become corrupt and start abusing it. It's not the solution to the problem simply because it keeps the evil circle in motion and does nothing to stop our own demise in the end. The problem isn't with sending people to prison. Rather, it is with making them comfortable while they are there. If we really want to stop such crimes, then we need to make sure prison is the most uncomfortable experience of a person's life. Only in exceptions do I agree with the death penalty. If a person is a serial murderer like Ted Bundy, then that person should be taken out of this world with a lethal injection. You just don't get it do you? Dismembering and/or torturing others won't do anything but flip the insanity switch in the minds of human beings who might normally be nice people. The temptation of the flesh to do that is strong, but then again, in a sense, we should also remember that we, too, are in a kind of prison because no matter what we do, in the end, we also have to face different forms of torment. I am against it, but that's just the way it is.
