Christopher Moltisanti & Dino together in OZ would have been one hell of a crossover episode. I think they could have had a whole criminal universe similar to the MCU. The Wire ,OZ & The Sopranos characters. Chris Partlow or Marlo meets Adibisi lol.
I wish Oz would’ve actually had a scene of eating Grilled Cheese off the radiator 🤣 would make more sense when it came out in The Sopranos with Phil… whatever happened there.
He was so great at playing an Italian mob boss but was even better playing Hector Salamanca on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The guy is actually just an old white dude from Philadelphia. Amazing actor.
I always thought it was funny how despite being homophobic, Nappa kinda accepted Ginzberg as his wife, even though their relationship was nonsexual. He should've never become so trusting of him.
It was hilarious yet it was one of the deaths that truly enraged me when I was watching the show back in the day. I was happy Adebisi found some peace and Wangler was such a spineless little punk. I liked his character Bodie on the Wire a lot more.
i bet his street name is something like "Dirt Nappa!" because that's what he gives you if you cross him. like that poor guy he killed in his flashback. antonio put him in a permanent dirt nappa
LOL thank you Kevin! Ol' Sister Pete is definitely on the short list for the next major character vid. Rebadow too. I have a few smaller character videos done but I have to stagger them or youtube gets stupid haha
Don’t fxxk with man like Antonio Nappa yawna 😂😂 I’ve seen oz so many times over years I’m currently watching again on S3 ep 1 the season where Simon Adebesie takes out Nappa with that aids needle the guy that played Nappa is a certified legend I remember him playing the hitman in the iconic scarface 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh Jon you are too kind! Thank you. Sopranos has been on my list for a while actually. Working on a Best of Chuck McGill from Better Call Saul video but it's still pretty early on.
1:22 proof that Chucky killed Peter for completely bullshit reasons--he says to Nappa in total sincerity that he has no belief in magic & superstition, meaning he didn't believe what Ryan told him about Peter's curses, so just killed Peter for his own convenience or spite. Which is strange, because prior to season 6, Chucky had a very loving protective stance toward Peter.
He was the most brilliant and in control leader for sure. Nino Schibetta was one of the most respected but his reign was brief by not having enough powerful wise guys around him, eventually leaving him almost a solo act before being murdered. Peter Schibetta was the worst for being absolutely weak, riding on his dad's coattails and getting raped twice. Pancamo was a far better enforcer than a leader because he wasn't smart enough
9:29 what does Adebisi say here? "Sometimes you need a (?)" Also, what Adebisi says about cultural cheek kisses at 9:48 is really sad and prescient foreshadowing, for how poor Peter Schibetta is blinded then killed by his own family.
1:44 arguably, Peter had Adebisi under a sort of spell, albeit not one that Peter controlled and chose in ways beneficial to him, or could do anything about🥲
It's really brutal and sad to realise that the only men who truly cared about Peter unconditionally enough to want to avenge him were Nappa, and also Peter's cousin Dino (implied, and it hardly matters because he died before Peter even got to Em City and was raped). Don does say at one point before Peter's return to Oz after a psych stay that he misses Peter and was a boyhood friend of his, but doesn't care enough to prevent Peter's death, he even helps Chucky to kill Peter.
2:04 McManus isn't correct to say there were no witnesses to Peter's rape, though he probably doesn't know or suspect any different. The Homeboys were still at work in the kitchen as it was in-progress and we didn't hear them depart, the corrupt CO who let Chucky & Peter into the kitchen may not have left the scene either, and after the rape occurs the episode cuts to Miguel at the cards table bragging to Chico as if he saw it first-hand too for some weird reason (iirc Miguel literally tells Chico "you should have been there"). So there were at least a few bystanders who saw what happened and did nothing.
Oh she's definitely on the list. I am about 80% done Lopresti, hopefully out this week. Chico Guerra is about 50%, and working on another Better Call Saul vid
3:31 I don't know too much about Orisha--was Jara exorcising Adebisi while they were in Em City? And it bothers me that 5:06 Jara in his final moments speaks English rather than his native tongue Yoruba
11:00 Nappa is an avowed homophobe, but he's more than willing to share a coffee chat with Mukada, a priest who's very obviously gay (albeit probably celibate). He also more or less befriends Natalie. So it's nice to know he wasn't a total bigot.
