Takes me aback that a guy way back in the 1720s could kick ass like this.

The 2nd Movement in this Concerto is just the 2 Cellos accompanied only by the Continuo Section. Although I arranged 3 new parts (2 Violins and Viola) for that movement so you could do it with string quartet accompaniment.

In the Tutti Passages the 2 Cellos get to play the Bass Line w/ the Continuo section which is what they were originally designed to do.

Barenreiter has a Piano Reduction score and their music is based on the original manuscript but it's neater and easier to read.

I guess the Solo Cello parts are easier to play on a 5 String Cello cause the High E String moves the Higher notes to an easier position.

I am certain that the second 5:06 part resembles the opening chorus of Bach's St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244-1: 'Koomt, ich töchter').

It is one of the most common tropes of Baroque music, 2 turns, one after the other, so wouldn't be surprised.

@@TheOneAndOnlyZeno Bach even arranged some of Vivaldi's Music for Keyboards.

time for some baroque controvercy: Vivaldi was much greater than Bach. Now come at me, bro..........

@@MrMorlaf Everyone knows Germans are way more genius than Italians. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven. Einstein was a German. How can an Italy boy compete with that? Except you're right. Listen to this thing! It's crazy brilliant!

The edition is pretty good but the recording does have too many wrong accidentals

This could also be played on 2 5 string Violins (Solo Cello parts 8va).

this could also be played on two pots of differing size with two spoons...................

There's a reason composers made pieces for specific instruments. I'm all for putting a bit of your touch to certain pieces that allow it but completely changing the instrument is kinda not it lol
