Even though the title is I am shutting down FC, no follow up questions were asked about why shutndown instead of passing the baton to someone else? What was the background or what was the reaction of employees, I mean so many things need to be clarified given FC had become such a big brand and ammassed so many loyal fans. They deserve a bit more explanation
Arre.. she didnot review any movie associated with his husband because of conflict of interest, ab if she is going to be with Hollywood reporter how can she still be associated with a platform which provides similar service or whatever (to Hollywood reporter)... That would again be a case of conflict of interest na... Atleast the Hollywood reporter people agreed with the continuation of the IP Film Companion (Films) as it somehow skips that conflict... 1:16
Anupama Chopra, she is my most favourite person on the internet and it's primary because she is not from this internet generation. She is so sensible, soft spoken and never asks awkward and insensitive questions. Always a thorough professional, she is the gold standard in journalism. Always so vested in the person and process of the interview, she asks the most potent questions, not the generic ones. Her laugh eases the tension if any in the interview and her genuine compliments makes the other person open up easily. I so love her work and her team at Film companion. It has created the wave of film critique but none matched her.
I always wanted to see Anupama Chopra getting interviewed...I am in such awe of her and the love for films she has is just contagious...and it really makes me feel so good to hear Anupama Chopra say that she cannot strike up a conversation with someone outside the movies...I am sort of the same kind... Thank you team Humans of Bombay for making this interview happen...it was very interesting...well spent 50mins
Mine is when she invites Karan Johar in the year end roundtable after giving negative reviews to his films which are the reason for the hate Bollywood is receiving. Then he eats most of the time in that conversation..
What credentials do you have to judge who is a good actor or not? All self-proclaimed critics think they are entitled to believe their opinions are accurate, and that others are not good at their job. tf Grow up.
I've always been a fan of Anupama's reviews & film companion & do remember her pre film companion. It was either rajiv or anupama's reviews that I took seriously as a barometer, especially pre social media becoming all encompassing. As an aside, I can remember when film companion were looking for reviewers/ writers and I thought about applying (my journalism diploma was quietly gathering dust ), until I thought being in the U.K. would be an impediment , and the other what -if scenarios wern't computing in my mind. Anyhoo, I digress. Whilst it's a pity she's leaving Film Companion, it's good that she's keeping the brand intact & that it'll continue in a newer vision. Here's to you, Anupama & your future success! 🌅
I like Karisma, I thought she was just a pretty face, but her questions have depth, she has done her research and she still puts it out there in a refreshing way. She could possibly work on getting to the point quicker, but apart from that, I love how she allows Anu to talk without interrupting ❤❤…well done, ANU was just incredible, honest and sincere.
Last when I saw HOB interview, it was with Harsha Bhogle and seeing this makes me believe in how crucial it is to gain and grow with experience. Look how confident she appears now. All the perfect things any interviewer should possess, the listening skills, the charm, the skill to speak and ask questions - simply amazing! Much success
Where are people coming from? I literally fell in love with pankaj tripathi, nawazuddin siddiqui, rakshit sethy, rajkumar rao, and all the insight about south film industries because of FILM COMPANION
What a LOSS to not have film companion, most of all Anupama Chopra 😢..her interviews, reviews were so insightful, deep unlike the superficial questions so often asked by many…used to always look forward to her interviews…there’s only Jammy pants aka Anmol Jamaal now..wish we have many more like her..lots of good wishes to Anupama❤❤
Anupama ma'am understood many viewers to appreciate CINEMA.🎥 Not only actors roundtable but directors, writers & technicians roundtable.✨ The front row interviews, FC Retake, FC Flashback, video essay, analysis and more many things.🫡 The Late Take with Anmol bhai 🤟 I'm happy for Anupama ma'am But no more new interviews 🥲
Anupama said it. She was a soft critic because of being who she is. - Vidhu vinod’s wife. She knew the process of film making and couldn't be a harsh critic.
I loved the conversation from both Anupama Chopra Ji and Karishma Ji because both these legends redefined what is the actual real and inspiring journalism means. Their way of understanding and conveying things to audience is super. The matter of depth and interest they put into researching and presentating with such honest opinions and varied knowledge of their respective domains are impeccable. Thank you so much for giving us so much love from film companion and giving us cinephiles with such beautiful and inspiring conversations to aspire for. Kudos to your effort ,sincerity and hardwork, all the heart you put is reflecting with your views on it. One mind twisting doubt is why they are shutting film companion because only Anupama Chopra Ji is leaving the channel but rest of the crew and team will always be there? Then why to shut down the entire Film Companion because thats the only things we have left.
Very nice one. A small suggestion: there are places where both of you talk at the same time, resulting in less clarity. Please do take care of that in future interviews
Film Companion acted like PR for Close circles especially Dharma productions. Sandeep Reddy Vanga destroyed Rajeev Masand before now Film Companion. They lost credibility. Period. She is good at interviews. Not reviews.😂
You people are so full and thick brained,of the propaganda that you have been fed, you won't be able to sit through an entire review of hers to even make out if she is based or not!

Okay, now those who have been stuck here for ages can sincerely watch Deeksha Sharma and get fantastic, true, genuinely insightful reviews, without any of the unnecessary sucking up.
37:08 insecure is a strong word Anupama. Making films using cameos is also a way of film making which many movie makers across the world have used. At the end of the day movie was great. General audience just want one word review for the whole movie Great/Good/Bad/Average, to escape and enjoy their life after their busy hectic works, where as you took up review as a job so you people just nitpick on everything. The movie was great.
Anupama Chopra is a cinematic luminary! Her insightful reviews, infectious passion, and unparalleled grace made Film Companion a must-watch. Her command of the English language, coupled with her honesty and decency, made her an exceptional interviewer and critic. We'll deeply miss Film Companion's intelligent analysis of Bollywood. This loss is a significant one, but Anupama Chopra's legacy as a brilliant film journalist will continue to inspire. Anupama Chopra is yet to announce her next venture post Film Companion. While her departure from Film Companion is indeed a significant loss for cinema enthusiasts, her immense talent and passion for film are undeniable. There's no doubt that we'll see her grace on screens again in some capacity. Let's hope it's sooner rather than later! #AnupamaChopra #FilmCompanion #WeMissYou
Anupama Chopra is good fun..nice interview. But the set is such an eyesore! The light on Anupama is completely unflatterring. The ugly blue satin curtain, that Anupama's dress is matching, is a bad idea because it doesn't compliment the guests at all....and fake green plants...seriously?! Please go for classy instead of clashing decor....presentation is everything in an AV medium!
No one sets out to make a bad films, what will work with public to love and make a big hit is a gamble ! Giving negative review is based on a film what did not work, does not means every one who work in film should leave the film industry! Every one should learn from mistakes and move on , even public !
@sow9619 Yes you are the kind of people for whom the "The Fabulous lives of Bollywood Lives" is a great show and the Bandra, West Delhi movies with lots of lusty bollywood songs look good. But not a TELUGU movie which made India proud at an International stage🙂🙂
@@youtubevicks6330 Your comment about Bandra seems a bit off-track for me as a South Indian-didn't quite resonate 😂. Anyway, I believe Baahubali deserved the acclaim it received, but RRR succeeded largely because of Rajamouli's strong brand presence.
Everyone knows Anupama Chopra is unofficial PR of Shahrukh Khan.. she never talks about side of SRK who plants the negative stories against his contemporaries and juniors. She just whitewashes him all the time. But it's the time of social media nothing is hidden
if overdoing hosting had a face, this lady is it. I couldn't finish the interview because of her overzealousness. It turned cringy and pretty lame after a certain point
Listening to Anupama js always lovely ❤. But I have to say Karishma has evolved a real lot as an interviewer. I remember watching an interview on this channel few months back which made me not follow this channel anymore. But now, with Anupama bringing me back to this channel, I am indeed going to stay here and follow purely because of Karishma, the interviewer❤
Anupama chopra s a Very well spoken well mannered host with great vocabulary. But She disappears whenever needed t review her favorite’s movies . And lately she was too soft on nepo kids . But won’t even mention outsider (actress especially ) names while reviewing .
She started a companion show hats off but as time passes she suddenly became a pr agent of nepo kids and finally Bhardwaj rengan also left the organization it becomes so difficult for her
Keep hearing such critics are paid and held as PR machinery for bollywood performers who less actors rather told as stars. Audience decides the fate of a film not such crap critics. So who cares if she is leaving, shutting down etc etc . Not interested
I sincerely feel Anupama Ji should not review any of SRV (Sandeep Reddy Vanga)’s future movies. When she does (Kabhir and Animal), she is definitely go down.. somehow 😅
this lady is always biased towards nepo kids and silent when asked questions towards her biasedness I still remember when rohit shetty sir asked her back some questions and she had no answer
Smart people make good business men but not necessarily good actors. Great PR - Chopra for example. Charm of course works too. Thats SRK in a nutshell.
You people are so full and thick brained,of the propaganda that you have been fed, you won't be able to sit through an entire review of hers to even make out if she is based or not!
Its boring when in a 60 min interview , 25 min dedicated to praising 12th fail. And calling it as “movie of the decade” I seriously question your intellect! Yes 12th is a very good movie , but movie of the decade !! Seriously ?? I think you have seen only one movie in the decade.
Shes been shown the doors= like priyanka chopra 😂 Asylum in Hollywood reporter... Good decision anyway... If ur dil is not hindustani... Better don't review hindi movies...
HE said "illiterate, uneducated when it comes to movies".. How anchor filp the question infront of her and how dumb their pov. Everyone knows her reviews so called in the name of critic is insecure and biased.
Shahrukh might be the king of the world for you.. but the biggest movie star of this country will always be Amitabh Bachchan. In terms of acting and cultural impact.. Amitabh towers over your Shahrukh by leaps and bounds.
He’s been missing from past 15 years I absolutely respect him but there was time where he had to beg for movies and money SRK has obviously overtaken him and is no doubt the GREATEST
@sibtainansari2525 He had to ask for work because of a financial crisis. That doesn't change his stature in any way. He has been again ruling since 2000 till date.. SRK is second to Amitabh. No doubt SRK is one of the biggest superstars the country has ever or will ever see. I just believe Amitabh is numero uno.
And you just downplayed dilip kumar over here. Amitabh may have been in films for a longer period but yousaf sahab is , was and will be the best. Its not about who is the biggest the impact yousaf sb and shahrukh had on the actors who came after him I think amitabh didn't.
Just an observation of the interviewer - it would look more matured, dignified and perhaps eloquent if the talking is done without hand gestures. Hand movements whilst talking is frowned upon in dignified societies.
so, talking "logically" nagi felt short in story writing (* i dont have issue with that at all im not up for him directly). But, she saying she clapped for RRR scene where deer and lion and cheeta WITHOUT attacking each other jumped together and there she couldnt see a soft spot in story telling or creative over visualization against nature. I have known her since childhood but, she is too insecure to talk about SRK and yet she never names or mentions Prabhas she is reluctant, she is up for "Daring actors" but those who are taking leap of faith in every film she has reviews all dumped on them. So, success is what matter no matter things are shit
Why do the wokes, elites, and "progressives" have such high opinions of SRK? This is beyond my understanding.. what wrong have Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, or Salman Khan done?
Shahrukh has the personality and intelligence that none else has. And I am myself repulsed by wokism and progressiveness non sense. But with shah rukh, have to say this. He deserves it.
Asking about SRK when the interview is about anupama just felt awkward . And then the final question of how did she (the interviewer)perform was so cringe . I suppose journalists always have to be about them giving to others.
