Hello everyone, welcome to my channel.
In this video I show you how I make the anvil stand,
with 10 x 10 pine wood dowels. The shape I have given it is due to I would like to reduce the noise by adding a 2 cm rubber plate in the center of the base, surrounding it with iron bands 3 cm wide. If you like the video, do not hesitate to subscribe, like and comment.

Esa base te va acompañar mucho, mucho tiempo. Se la ve una robustez tremenda, los cinturones de pletinas ademas de aportarle consistencia le hace un bonito diseño. El yunque como nuevo, y la edición que yo particularmente valoro en los vídeos, es muy buena. Enhorabuena por todo amigo.

Me da mucha pena desgastarlo y aun quedan marcas de radial que prefiero darle soldadura antes de seguir rebajando :):)

Tremendo!! Semejante bitxo! Tiene un aspecto muy bruto, la idea de poner como amortiguador una baldosa de goma creo que te funcionara con el tema del ruido y vibraciones, eso si le falto tu logooo!!!

Me gusto el video: todo eso es un gran herramienta pero al final de todo el proceso lo veo en forma de arte real inclusive, como lo haces en el sentido didactico. y el uso se pasa de nota. Mil gracias por compartir.

I'm curious, how well does it work? I assume the reason for the rubber is to soft the effect of vibration on the human hand. So, how effective is it?

make sure not to grind the surface of that anvil too much, there’s a layer of hardened steel that is on top, and grinding through it could mean a ruined anvil, just be careful. also that rubber padding might suck up some of your energy when smithing, meaning you may not be as efficient. good luck to you, keep blacksmithing!

Nifty design. How well does the sound dampening rubber work? The only concern I'd have is it acting as a shock absorber, reducing the direction of your hammer blows into solid mass. You don't want your anvil to budge. I suppose if the rubber is dense enough, you're good. Nice sound track. ;-)

@@mikegracia1475 - I made my anvil stand out of about four feet of solid oak trunk ~16” in diameter, buried a couple feet into the ground (on packed stone and sand) and put a healthy layer of black silicone between the anvil bottom and oaken base - chained ‘er down - and that’s ROCK solid and totally deadened the loud ring to a much more tolerable muted clink. I vouch for that method 100%. 👍🏼

Very nice build but, it is WAY too high for anyone I know except someone about 7 feet tall to use! I will be making something similar, this summer but a lot shorter because I'm only 5 feet 5 and 1/4 inches tall! Thanks for the great video!

You can find the Rubber tile 50x50cm 25 mm green at Leroy Merlin website. I don´t know if in your area you have this shop or they deliver to your country. Just check it.

hola, el mio mide 82 cm, pero es para mi postura, tiene que quedar el brazo ligeramente flexionado al golpear y que te sea cómodo, espero que te sirva de ayuda, perdón por el retraso, un saludo

Great effort, but you've greatly diminished the anvil's usefulness by adding that rubber springboard. Binding it properly to the wood will take out the ring. The same thing would have been more effective by just placing the entire pad under the whole block. Overengineering at its finest.
