I applaud Big G for this he understands that he’s a part of the most influential tool in the DMV which is Go-Go he’s a lead talker and he’s doing all he can to help LEAD his community. The rest of you lead talkers for these bands need to follow his lead, y’all have their ears in the Go-Gos get out in the streets and grab their ears out their. Don’t let him do it all by himself give him some help. I definitely agree with this brother. The thing is that first and foremost, the culture and self image has to change and asap. That means to snub noses at the idea of glorifying being a body snatcher, a drug dealer or similar. It means to take pride and value one’s own community and to stop glorifying how jacked up and crime ridden it is compared to other hoods. With that, I’ll say this at risk of being ridiculed, getting Jesus in the picture as Jesus is Love. How can we expect someone to show love and concern to their neighbor when they don’t even feel that for themselves? It won’t happen. A lot of these people doing this stuff, especially the young ones, have no sense of self worth in themselves or their community.l hence why they move the way they do. That’s not a condemnation on my part. It’s an observation and it’s sad to see people dying before their time due to going down the dark path. It’s saddening and it does need to stop. Until these foundational changes I listed come into play we can expect things to be business as usual if not worse.
