This is a very personal video and was very hard for me to decide to upload. I suffer from anxiety disorder and a few days ago I suffered from a panic attack that formed in a way I have never felt before, and captured it happening on camera.
My neck, mouth muscles, shoulders, and upper back began to tighten - it was very painful and I was unable to continue vlogging. I called my Dr. and explained my symptoms. My doctor told me that I was suffering from a panic attack commonly known as Globus Hystericus I researched more on the internet and found so much information that was text book on what was happening.
Good news, I feel better - I got much needed rest and haven't had it happen again.
My hopes in sharing this is to reach out to my Mommawedel Family. If you suffer from this type of anxiety attack you are not alone.
UPDATE TO ANXIETY VIDEO IS UPLOADED - HERE IS THE LINK

"I'm not kidding there's something really wrong" the famous first words of every panic attack ever. That's exactly how my family knows when I'm having a severe attack

I have Social Anxiety and the way I found out was because of an anxiety attack. I felt dizzy and I suddenly felt really hot and started to sweat as well as feeling sick and I couldnt talk I had to get out of the situation I was in and once I got outside it went away but I was shaking a bit and I was so confused at what happened because thats the first time I had one.

Jin not a doctor here, but hypoglycemia or type ll diabetes may be your cause. Have your doctor do an A1C TEST, IF YOUR AVERAGE BLOOD sugar count comes out to be below 90, yes hypoglycemia or type ll diabetes. Shakiness is the body's way of saying " help" low blood sugar, candy bar, something sweet, but don't over do it, otherwise you'll go too high . ******Remember, I'm not a physician/doctor in any way!*****

Joeys Bestfriend hey just had one myself feels dodgy! I had my first attack early November from abit of weed what I quit in the summer I had half of one and had four massive attacks one after the other, first one I wondered what was happening it struck my like a shock! I felt like my body from my life side was goin into a stroke made jump up from my seat watching tele and went towards my kitchen. my eyesight also went yellow and I was dizzy I thought I was going to cringe up and die I even grab my girlfriend which scared her to bits. would say the first one was big and small ones came shortly after than the last one was the biggest thought my life was over as I went to the floor holding my partner she called for the emergency services as I was losing my breathing and my body towards my chest started to go warm and my heart beating fast. the emergency services came and put me on the gas&air telling me to take deep breaths, in matter of a second I started to feel normal and was later told it was a panic attack which shocked me I've never had nothing like that in my life, I also felt little stupid towards them after. after that which I felt at the time of the attack the burning I can feel at side of my head at my temple but just now&again, 2 weeks ago which was a month after the attacks was at a friends house drinking most of the night and they was a few people with weed once again which I stopped but was passed to me so just had a couple of burns of it and gave it back, soon as that started to kick in from it was straight attacks to I felt normal from the weed, my head burning, heart racing fast,eye sight yellow and the warm feeling in my body but I could feel my body go into panic also thought of crazy things too like I'm going to lose my family or my partner even my dog want nice would say they want as big as before but kept running one after the next. really slight feeling. I been Ok since then till today about over a hour ago, yesterday I was at family's for Xmas ate food drank wine allday with a few beers I would say I didn't have much suger to be honest, I woke up this morning hungover little with my mouth little dry so had little coke-cola drink would say half also 2 cups of tea with each one 2 sugers. over hour ago I had little heartburn to start than the burning feeling in my temple my jaw feels like its goin on one side which is the same side as my temple and down my neck that side too. my heart goin the same with warm feeling my eyesight little dodgy but not yellow. each time this feels like I'm having a stroke starting to scare me now really bad I just feel my body is going to just go and I'm going to die its crazy! each time them attacks happen its more in my head and my jaw gos, thats without touching any of the weed now and just come on as normal, would say with the weed has been the baddest I've been like my body won't have it with the attacks on top other than that they are sight ones but not nice my doctor won't even listen to me about it too which is a joke. I had a op in April which was for a hernia in my groin close to my private parts which I know now played a big part with my hormones so not sure if it down to that. I had hernia their for over 10 years and didn't know what it was, each year it got bad from 2004 and all I did was go to my doctors about feeling something there but was pushed away each time was a long story on top of everything I've said so won't go into it much but I've only just starting to feel better from it and was slow healing. ive had 3 doctors in 10 years but looks like I will be moving again. the attacks can't workout if it from operation, or with being a bad year on top too had lots on my mind but they just coming out the blue now getting scared about now.

Joeys Bestfriend yes! And it always freaks me out because ofcourse it's on the left side. Why can't the numbness or tingling be on my right side?? Actually experiencing it right now and having a hard time convincing myself that I'm not have a stroke/heart attack. The ONLY reason I know I'm not having a stroke or heart attack is if I busy myself with something else, I forget the symptoms and they "go away" but soon as my mind comes back to it, I will gradually feel the tingling the numbness, the cold sweats, etc.. And symptoms from a heart attack or stroke don't just "go away" Atleast that's what I tell myself. Lol. Usually helps 😊

liz scott Same for me! I had one yesterday. 😢 It came out of NOWHERE. I felt dizzy all of the sudden and I felt so weird, like I was going to have a heart attack. I literally jumped off the bed and that's when it hit me. I had trouble breathing. The only thing on my mind was, "you're going to have a stroke and die." It felt so real though. The pains on the left side of my chest, the tingling and numbness on my left arm, hands and toes. It was for about 10 minutes. I was locked in my room, so there was no one with me. Once it stopped, I tried to calm down. So I went for a walk with my brother. Once I was calm, the pain went away. Like there was nothing.

Crafty Animals allergic reactions to what you are eating cause this as well. With panic disorder, my heart and my 48 yr old son's heart rate stay the same, but feels like a full blown heart attack! If not diabetes, a stroke, then an allergy to mold? Toxic mold. I have sores from mold spores, had to throw everything out, move! Look it up. See if your symptoms match. I was also bitten by a hobo spider. I must have crushed it. I nearly lost my arm, so I am now arachnophobic. Took 2 years, on my own, to heal it. Looked like hamburger meat. I know how to walk through fear, but my body doesn't. I'm 65, a vegetarian since 1980 & a vegan since bitten July 2014. Now, if that wasn't enough, my granddaughter gave me lice! I have been in a what's called, Bible, " woman turned to salt". I stayed in a continuous attack, for a month, just after that, rashes and bites, STRESS outbreaks. If your body stays in stress, be very careful, stress can take us out, so rest, take small walks

I feel like my panic attacks are a lot different than other people's. Usually when it starts my vision goes really dim and my heart starts racing. I feel hot and cold flashes at the same time. I start smelling things that aren't there. Then I think that I could possibly be epileptic and having a seizure so I freak out even more (even though I'm not). I get extreme nausea and if I'm sitting somewhere I immediately bolt out of my seat. Then my breathing becomes something I consciously control. That's the scariest part. I have to tell myself to breath in and exhale and if I don't I suffocate. Usually they happen about twice a month at random times for about 5-10 minutes but they also leave me stressed out and barely able to eat through the next day.

Oh man, definitely anxiety! Slurring words is a symptom :( it has happened to me, I was diagnosed as experiencing a "mood swing" which includes panic attacks, slurred words, and amnesia - all under the umbrella of anxiety. Scariest thing I've ever experienced. I thought I was literally dying. I'm sorry you experienced this. Sending love 😚

BeautyStar BeautyStar that'd be a better question for your doctor.. but if you're experiencing psychological mood swings, then yes that is a part of anxiety and you are most likely experiencing daily panic attacks and anxiety attacks... but again, a doctor would need to diagnose you. (Also note, mood swings do not mean you're happy one minite and pissy the next. Society's idea of a mood swing is not the same as the medical term.)

I have my anxiety disorder for three years. Mine starts out with rapid onset of breathing, stuttering, and a raving desire to go, away, I can’t stay here I have to go. Pacing,rubbing top,of my legs, fingers in my brain stirring it around. Things move too fast. Why am I here, you have to leave, you can’t be here, loud moaning, more pacing. Gasping, pounding my head with my fist, get out get out of my head. They end with me in a dark room under a very heavy blanket. Take a couple of days to shake it off, sometimes it comes back

I have anxiety. I can't eat without feeling nauseous afterwards, I always think i'm going to throw up. It scared me to death to even think about throwing up. I can't go anywhere. I can't do anything. School is hard to go to because i always feel nauseous. Even though I don't eat much, I somehow am still a bit overweight. I really can't exercise, it's just too hard. It hurts and I cry when I exercise. I feel like i'm going to pass out when I try to run a mile. I don't have much healthy foods because i have no motivation to eat healthy. I will go on a shopping spree and get everything healthy (salads, veggies, fruits, etc). And then when I get home i'll eat a salad or so.. Later on when I get hungry I open the fridge and I just can't find anything that I want. I can't eat healthy. It's not that it doesn't taste good, I love how veggies and such taste. I don't know what to do. I'm 12, 105 pounds. It may sound like i'm skinny but I have a chubby stomach. I have a chubby face. Double chin. I suck it in for pictures. I'm depressed all the time yet if you look at my instagram @taylorlawley I look like i'm having the time of my life. I act like life is so great on social media, it's like i'm fake. When I wear a bikini I just suck it in. My flaws - I have no cheekbones visible, no collar bones visible, no boobs, chubby stomach, chubby cheeks, round face, very round nose, cellulite on my legs, fat knees, I don't really have a "curve" on my body. The only real thing I like about my body is my butt, but that's not something that is very necessary? I don't know what i'm saying. I'm just ranting on. I'm bullied a lot, I get called fat, prostitute, slut, bitch, unhealthy, etc. My two bullies have the best bodies in the world + best faces. They said that since my mom died about 8 years ago, it doesn't matter anymore because of how long ago it was. My dad has drank from my ages 4 - 10. He recently slipped twice on the drinking, but stopped. I panic about everything. I am super sensitive so I cry about everything. One time I was trying to clean out the vacuum and it went everywhere and I just sat there and cried like a baby. My best friend recently left me for one of my bullies. I have no friends, I push them all away somehow. I feel nauseous every single day because I get scared that I will throw up. WHY IS LIFE SO HARD????

Wow! I wish RU-vid would have been around in the late '80's when I was going through panic attacks and suffering with clinical depression. I thought I was the only one in the world who this was happening to. Good news for those that are experiencing PA s and depression. As someone asked me back then:"How much would it be worth to you to know that everything is going to be ok?" It's been over 30 years without a single panic attack and really, pretty much depression-free all that time. I wish you all well. Love you.😊

My anxiety attacks are always out of body type feeling. Almost like the world we live in doesn't exist and im just this weird energy in space. Its not a comfortable feeling at all and I usually have difficulty breathing when it happens. Ive tried meds and none of them work for me. A couple years ago I started following Jesus and learning more about him and understanding human nature. It has opened my eyes to why I was having anxiety in the first place. The reason for my anxiety was due to long term stress caused by worldly things (money, bills, wants, health, etc.).

YOU NEED THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD WILL TAKE THAT ANXIETY DISORDER FROM YOU. CALL THE GOD IN CHRIST CHURCH OR ANY PENTECOSTAL CHURCH AND MAKE A APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE PASTOR. TELL PASTOR YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR LIFE TO GOD, AND YOU WANT THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE AND ASK THEM DO THEY KNOW OF A CHURCH THAT HAS THE HOLY SPIRIT. STAY AWAY FROM JEHOVAH WITNESS KINGDOM HALL. GOOGLE THE CHURCHES I MENTION. DO IT NOW. THE MINUTE YOU GET THE HOLY SPIRIT YOU WILL BEGIN TO FEEL BETTER, AND AS TIME GOES ON YOU WILL BE HEALED OF ANXIETY DISORDER. I GUARANTEE IT. GOD WILL GIVE YOU A NEW LIFE. I PROMISE.

My first anxiety attack was when I was 16...I thought I was dying at first. I couldn't breath, my throat closed up, my shakes were crazy...it was like all of the stress and sadness I'd ever experienced released all at the same time. It suck, but we are here for each other...don't concern yourself about what other people might think..they are not living your life. Always speak to someone..it usually calms me down...also hugging someone is a great remedy!!! Sucks when people say be strong...but be weak when you need to be...

Mommawedel, I do not mean for this to be a negative or critical comment, but have you considered how taxing it might be for you to retain the level of forced positivity that people often seems to assume when vlogging? Lots of vloggers have started speaking out about the toll it takes on a persons well being, when you constantly try to affect a demeanor of happiness throughout videos, its my belief that such a disposition is unnatural and unhealthy. You might be surprised how interested and engaged people are if you are just you - just be fine, you don't need to be so positive - unless of course that truly is you.
@Mommawedel

Walter Kemp Bruce no offense taken. I appreciate your comment and yes that is a very real issue for a lot of RU-vidr's. However, if you watch my other videos you will see I am not a forced positivity kind of person. In fact, I oppose that type of vlogging because it's just not "real".

I am soooo glad I saw this video 😩. I just recently realized I have anxiety. My most recent one was last week, I was driving uber and my breath was SO tight and short! I picked up my rider and it got WORSE. I started fidgeting while driving (grabbing at my elbows and squeezing my fingers), my car felt SO SMALL, I was so scared and trying so hard not to cry. I kept checking back to make sure the girl wasn’t noticing what was going on and I REALLY wanted to let my windows down but i didn’t want her to be uncomfortable. We were stuck in traffic and it made me feel even worse because i felt like i would never be able to breathe. And i avoided being too noticeable and that is the worse thing i could have ever done . When she finally got out i rolled down all of my windows and even my sun roof and exhaled so deeply. You would have thought someone was suffocating me. I wanted to cry so bad.

I didnt know! What happened to her at the end happened to me when I was laying in bed and fighting via phone with my boyfriend. When I hung up yes I started crying but after a while I didn't know how to speak, I'm sorry for the comparison but it almost felt like I was high because I didn't know where I was and I was so dizzy... Words wouldn't come out right of my mouth, they sounded like hers.. I thought honestly it was an allergic reaction to something but I never thought that it might have been a panic attack... It was awful really... Thanks for sharing and providing Proof of how it is and feels like.. People who don't have anyone to consult need to know what they are experiencing and going thru.. I remember when I was a little girl whenever I felt an attack coming on my throat would tense up and kind of lock down my vocal chords and I wouldn't be able to speak for about 1 to three minutes. Sometimes I couldn't breath and I'd go from anxiety to a full blown panic attack. People who witnessed it would later describe to me the wild eyed look of fear on my face and the notable paralysis of my body. I never liked the idea of medication or professional therapy to try and over come. Instead I did two things that really helped me a lot. One, whenever I felt an early warning that I was about to have an attack, I'd grab a journal and pen and start writing down that I'm about to "freak out". That would usually be the only complete sentence I'd write. At the onset and duration I'd scribble adjectives, action words and partial statements to capture what I was going through at that moment. This was years before cell phones and laptops ( if anyone was wondering). After the attack subsided I put the journal away without reading it immediately. After about a day or so I'd read what I wrote and, I tell you, it was like reading something straight out of a horror movie script! This exercise helped me to eventually take control of each attack by preparing for them, confronting them head on and eventually reducing the intensity. I was then able to move on to another method that, to this day, I still use. Whenever I feel one coming on, I imagine I'm on a virtual roller coaster ride. I sit very erect and place my hands on my knees to simulate holding onto the safety bar and I start the slow ascend up the tracks and at the very climax of the attack I close my eyes and plunge down the drop all the while narrating to myself exactly what I'm virtually seeing and feeling. This exercise marginalized the attacks and all but removes the fear and panic. I have so much better control over my anxiety attacks with this method that once the "ride" is over, I actually say "Whew! That was fun!" I have very few episodes these days and when I do, they usually go undetected by other people. I hope these methods can be of some help to people experiencing anxiety. I highly recommend recording and documenting your experiences and find you own personal "thrill ride" to help you with your own self-therapy.

I have experienced a similar type of anxiety attack. I’ve also experience absence anxiety attacks where you zone completely out and are almost non responsive which is pretty common in terms of how my anxiety works, and I’ve had panic attacks where you can’t breathe and your heart is racing like it’s gonna jump out of your chest. I also suffer from severe chronic depression that I’m on medications for due to an imbalance of chemicals in my brain. Don’t worry, there’s lots of people out here for love and support and there’s a lot of really good resources if you’re concerned or confused or just want to know more.

I've had an anxiety attack before. I was at a middle school jeopardy competition, and the whole time I felt a little off, but after my turn I started feeling dizzy, and next thing I knew I felt like I was going to faint. My teach actually had to help me get out of there, I was so bad off that I had to put almost all my weight on him. After we got off the bus, I went to children's Mercy urgent Care, and I had to use a wheelchair. The whole time at children's Mercy I was drooling heavily and seeing spots. This was just last year, but I haven't had one since and I hope I never have one again.

Maddie It is not from lack of oxygen or anything it's just your body acting as if you're losing air but you're not it's all in your head. You feel like you're out of breath and so you panic so your brain starts panicking too. even after a panic attack is over you will go through the effect of it.

@RyanLee1986
@RyanLee1986 9 лет назад
Maddie Sounds like your panic causes you to have shallow breathing, basically hyperventilating. Learn to control your breathing. Long deep breaths from the gut. My therapist drilled this in to my head. And it truly works. Sit up tall, one hand on your tummy. Breath in slow and deep, make your tummy push your hand out as you breathe in. Hold it for a couple seconds, than exhale slowly. Try to make it slow and rhythmic. Practice this daily. Next time you feel panicked, start the exercise asap. I promise it will help. Try it right now, do about 10 of them in a row. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Slow and steady, breathe in through your tummy, not your throat / lungs. You will notice immediately how you will feel very relaxed afterwards.

So a few days ago I had my first anixety attack.. I am eighteen years old. I can understand what caused it, I have been under a lot of stress with graduation, college, family problems, etc. It was really random, I was sitting in my last period English class and we were watching a movie and I just started to feel really weird as if I were high or something, I began to get really sweaty, shaky, short of breath, dizzy, I felt like I was going to pass out or throw up and I had several urges to use the bathroom. I had a strong urge to cry but I tried to control myself to my best ability so I dont seem crazy in front of my whole class, so I calmly walked to the front of the classroom where my teacher was sitting and asked if I could go to the office and talk to someone. He said sure in a concerned way. I then just grabbed my stuff and left, but i didnt go to the office, instead I went straight to the Drama room because I knew my bestfriend was in there and they were just working on painting stuff for a play, so i walked right in and she instantly was like "hey whats wrong?" and I broke down and was crying and shaking and hyperventalting and felt like I was just going crazy. I literally felt like I was going to die, it was the scariest feeling in the world. Ever since that day, (its only been like 4 days) i have been non stop anxious and I have been staying home avoiding things because I fear I will have another one. I went to church the next day and the whole time I felt so anxious and wanted to go home, now Im too scared to go anywhere. I told my dad about it and he isnt much of a support system so theres no chance of me getting counseling or medication. Someone help please! I feel like anxiety is taking over :(

When I get an anxiety attack I sometimes just get the hot-cold waves followed by crying/shaking/hyperventilating/sweating/feeling cold and stuff. But lately I've been having attacks where I feel nauseous like I'm about to throw up, I clench my throat and my jaw feels tense, and any small thing like someone talking to me or touching me can make it feel instantly worse... I hate this feeling, it makes me avoid going out, having friends over, etc because I'm so scared of getting into the about-to-throw-up state. I haven't actually been sick from this, sometimes I have just kinda gagged a few times, but for me that feels just as bad. I'm currently working on managing it with therapy and medication (that I have for burnout depression) so I can have a friend over some time again, either I have to learn to feel less distressed about it, or somehow have it happen less often... I miss my "normal" anxiety attacks where I don't feel nauseous, those were easier to deal with

Lately I’ve been having panic attacks or anxiety attacks everyday, either at home or at school. But each time they are different. Sometimes I get them at school and they aren’t that bad and sometimes I get them and they make me cry and I have to go to the office. Doesn’t help that my parents won’t help me. I’ve been dealing with this for a while now and nothing has helped. Today I was at school and I felt like I was dead and every time I shut my eye I felt like I was sleeping and it was a blur when I heard people talk. I literally thought I was dead and started crying and all my friends asked what was wrong and I told them I feel like I’m dead. And they just laughed.

The first time I ever had a panic attack I almost had someone call the ambulance. I remember just suddenly not being able to breath normally. I started to hyperventilate to the point where I wasn't getting enough air and I almost passed out. I remember crying uncontrollably, which also made it hard to breathe. I had no idea what was going on and I was terrified. It was in the middle of dance class and I was already stressed and anxious because I couldn't get my routine right and I had a lot going on in my personal life. Though I still have episodes exactly like the first one I had it's still terrifying!

So these panic attacks started during my pregnancy with my first child. I was probably around 6 months pregnant. My heart would pound and I would get a really tight feeling in my chest/torso area. And it would feel like a lump was in my throat. I remembering trying to make myself sick and stuff because I was soo nauseous. I remember telling my significant other that something was wrong and I couldn’t breathe and to open the window and stuff (this was winter time). I would be rocking back and forth trying to get it to stop and sometimes it would go on for hours. A few times a warm shower worked. Then that stopped working. Then the thought of having one in public constantly triggered them into having them more frequently at home. It was a mess. No lie, I started smoking marijuana after I had my child and haven’t had one that severe or even close....ever since.

I've had a few panic attacks that came out of nowhere and I felt like I was going to die! you're definitely not alone thank you for sharing this .. panic attacks are very very real and very very scary. but once we recognize what is happening you can get through them period. Knowledge is definitely power when it comes to panic attacks the more you know the more you can help yourself get through a panic attack and not have multiple panic attacks! I'm going to be making a very in-depth video about panic attacks my experiences / stories and a bunch of easy techniques and things to do to really help you get over the panic attacks or at the very least minimize them.✌

Panic/anxiety attacks are so individual and so hard to explain. First I just feel so tired and my head feels heavy. My heart starts to beat really fast and i try to calm down. Then the anxiety comes. A HORRIBLE AND DISGUSTING feeling just growing in my chest. It is unbearable. I then realize that it’s too late. I can’t do anything. And it feels like I’m going into another dimension. My body is weak, I stop seeing anything, I hear like too cups are on my ears. I cannot talk AT ALL. I can’t communicate or search for help, I can’t cry. Oh and one important thing is that it sounds like I have tinnitus but really really loud. It is so severe and so overwhelming that my body then gives up and passes out. Then I wake up and I thank Jesus Christ for saving me. Cause It’s gone. Then I have the ones that last for hours but they are less dramatic and I don’t pas out but since it lasts so long it is so much suffering. It comes in waves.

Agustina Fernandez Your welcome. Anything peppermint will work. They used peppermints way back when for upset stomachs it tends to calm it. The best thing u can also do is find a safe calm area in case like school work ETC this can help calm your stomach. Stress adds to the issue of feeling like wanting to puke in my opinion and in school I am allowed to walk out of the classroom to calm down. I am glad I helped you.

Lion - actually a panic attack is usually one or the other, but both are associated with panic attacks. You either "know" you're dying without a doubt, or you "know" you're going insane without a doubt. I've experienced both versions, and I don't know which was worse, they are both terrifying experiences....

Lion when I have panic attacks, it always starts with my face going numb on my left side and slowly moving down my body, and I start to think I'm having a stroke and *literally* begin to panic because I think I'm dying. That's when the hyperventilating starts and all the other fun stuff associated with them. They're called *panic* attacks because they cause you to panic (the actual definition of panic, not the "panic" people throw around loosely.)

There is a lot of self help on the internet. I used to have panic attacks that when having them, made me just want to die and get it over with. I just couldn't handle them. Being in my 70's and never having this before, it scared me. They started probably because I have copd and had some breathing attacks, but certain events would trigger them multiple times daily. I found a video on here from a dr. Michael Norman who explains that they are your body's natural reaction to potential threats and often, false alarms. When you try to fight them, you only make them last longer so his advice is to accept them, talk yourself down by saying you are safe, its just a false alarm and I am not n any danger. After about a week or so, my attacks became shorter and more manageable. I haven't had a panic attack in about a month, even though I have had the beginnings of one several ltimes a day. I have gotten it down to the point where I begin to feel the adrenalin starting to flow and my breathing starts to get a little heavy. I merely talk to myself and tell myself its ok, I am in no danger, and generally can end the attack in about one minute, making it bearable for me. If this doesn't help you, three are many others out there with simlar and even different techniques and I would encourage anyone who suffers to explore as many as you can until you find what works for you.

I have literally never left a comment on RU-vid regarding any subject. However, today I watched this video & have chosen to comment in order to possibly help someone know that they are not alone. I suffered with what was deemed a mental disorder in the 60's beginning 1st grade. At the time there were no treatment plans for a patient that young other than medication. Years of searching & hearing I was bipolar went on for what seemed an eternity for me. Though the symptoms lined up with the diagnosis of bipolar I knew that this was not bipolar. After literal years of counseling & every med possible. I was finally introduced to a psychologist that listened as I explained everything for at least the 20th time. This psychologist knew right away the 3 exact diagnosis I was suffering with. 1. Agoraphobia 2. Panic/Anxiety 3. PTSD. My parents were relieved to finally know that now I could receive the proper treatment. I was so grateful to know that at this point I could begin to have a life, my life back again. My treatment plan was working. Day by day I was making progress. Then Nov. 6, 2015, without any warning or symptoms My Mom had a massive stroke & went to be with "JESUS" on Nov. 23, 2015. On Nov. 25th, 2015 at 2:23am I thought I was literally dying. I was rushed to an ER where I was diagnosed with the most massive panic attack I have ever had. I gave up treatment. I care for My Dad, do only what has to be done & passed that I live with my pets in seclusion. If I am not doing something for Dad or what has to be done then I practically live in the cemetery where I can be as close to My Mom as possible. I will pray for you & I applaud you for your bravery to share your experiences about this diagnosis. It certainly can make you feel as though you are going to die. GOD bless you for your courage, strength, honesty & the willingness to help others.

I had to leave my home today & take care of some things for My Dad. i waited until the last minute because I knew in my heart what was going to happen. I reached for the door knob, turn it & walk out. I sat in my car for 20 minutes at the least to get the courage to leave. At present I am in what is diagnosised as an agorapobic episode. It was was triggered by something very sad yesterday. i made it out of the door, got in my car & sat there reasoning with myself to follow through with what had to be done. I was scared to death, but I made it & raced home asap. Once I entered my home I was fine. I feel horrible telling you about myself because there many here that are worse than me. However, please know I am trying this website in hopes of hearing something that will help me. Right now I am holding on with all I that I ever hope to be. My family DOES NOT UNDERDTAND. However, My Mom did & suddenly, very unexpected she is now with "JESUS" I am scared to death. Yet, I said, "I am trying more than ever for My Dad's sake." My Dad is my only reason to keep trying. Bless you all & I will lift us up to "JESUS" in prayer.

In 23 years of extreme anxiety attacks I have learned this. Hope it helps someone out there. After years of riding the wave of panic it occurred to me one day, nothing else is going to come of this other than the way I feel in that moment. I learned to control my inner reaction to the physical effects I was experiencing. How you feel in the moment of the attack is the result, nothing more. Nothing "ELSE" is going to happen. Reprogram how you react to anxiety. The less you give in, the more control you have and the faster it will be over with. Keep in mind, what you are experiencing is the physical effects of your brain flooding your system with chemicals that say fight or flight. If you take a sleeping aid you feel sleepy. Drink a beer you feel drunk. Have a chemical imbalance in your brain that floods the body with adrenaline and the like and well, you feel anxiety. With practice you will become functional. Today, I can look you right in eyes and have a conversation in the midst of an extreme attack and you wouldn't notice it. Like a functioning alcoholic or drug user. At this point in life it's the closest thing to a cure I have found. I will note, I never had this heath issue until becoming epileptic at the age of 27. Days after my first seizure I experienced my first anxiety attack. It was debilitating and took practice in this new mindset to reverse its control over my life.

Yes this is pretty much what worked for me. I still have a slight anxiety over leaving the house, but can get it over with in a minute or so. Fighting it only intensifies the panic. Understanding that it is a natural reaction and you are in no danger and convincing yourself of that truly helps. I never knew how bad people had it, but many suffer from it and it is a horrible experience to go thru.

Scott Dees - brother, brother, brother ...... I cannot express how similar my life with anxiety attacks is to what you wrote. First attack happened 18yo driving to work on a unlit & dangerous cliffside road on a Sun at 4:30am with litterally nobody else around. This is 32yrs ago and I had NEVER even heard the term "anxiety attack". Suddenly I go into a viscious, non-stop, dry heaving mode which after a few minutes straight began to make the muscles in my chest and throat very sore. I had to take a LOA from work because it went on 24hrs a day for a week until my symptoms finally began to ease up to get a couple hours per day not dry heaving. Obviously you know how every daily task becomes a challenge for many years until, after MANY medication regiments that I tried, when I REALLY thought about the process of it, the "cure" that finally set me free after close to 30yrs of it controlling my life ,,,, was actually within me all along, I just need to find it. Now, I too can be having a pretty significant attack without showing much signs while out in public talking to someone. I want to tell people that during those years I had frequent attacks, the symptoms was continuing to evolve into different type of reaction & even affecting different areas, but the 2 constants were that I was always VERY phisically intense & it happened frequently all year, every year.

have you tried talking to your parents? maybe another trusted adult like a school counselor. sometimes parents will listen when another adult addresses the issue.

I am a foster kid and my foster parents don't listen to me. They think I'm over exaggerating and school councillors don't care either. They only care about people with actuall problems. I've been to doctors several times and they all say different things. So I don't know what's wrong with me :(

That must have been quite frightening, I am sorry you experience anxiety, I hope you have got a second opinion on this as your voice changing was strange, I did not know that could happen in anxiety. I hope this never happens again, be well and thanks for sharing, anxiety is no fun, I have it myself.

Josef Cross Hi I also get voice changing (tongue muscle pull, and my tongue gets pulled backwards, that closes my throat and i can't breathe) :/ I watched this video cos i wanted to see how this beautiful young woman got it and guess what I had a panic attack JUST because I watched the video... Especially when she was losing her breath, I just felt it at the same time.. and I started to shiver and my throat felt like tightening and i had to ask my housemate to come and help me. Cos usually my panic attacks put me in hospital, can't go without calling ambulance. Normally it takes me like 10 days to get better again, i can't walk and move around by myself, can't eat anything during the first 4 days especially, and i throw up a lot, I just can't stop. And when there's absolutely nothing in my stomach i start throwing up some water kind of thing, and then i have to take medicine b'cos of an excessive loss of body fluids. Also my immune system gets weak during this time and i can easily become ill and have food poisoning. Panic attacks are just horrible, I wish they didn't even exist!! :(

Andrea Mayr Friend, I USED to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety before and I thank God that they are GONE. I have overcome them. I uploaded a video to help others. You must be comical and silly about them! Don't take them serious, because they're not! Please check out our channel and see the video! Please leave a comment if it has helped you to encourage others. :)

I have to pace around the house when I have anxiety attacks.

I tend to do that too. It seems to help, but sometimes it does nothing but make things worse...it's like my brain will start to really over think the more I pace...

you should be much worried about the truth that those dont exist, rather you will go to one of two places for all of eternity, either in gods presence in bliss paradise or hell where he isnt, getting the punishment for the sins you have comitted, repent of your sins and trust in jesus to me saved, obey him.
