If you love anxiety success stories, you're gonna love Jon Brandon Cruz (aka "Cruz'). Cruz went from stuck in his apartment, riddled with panic and afraid to leave, to back at work on a world tour to promote the Black Adam film with Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
How did he do it? Cruz is an almost textbook case of how to apply the principles of recovery in a committed, tenacious way. Grab a beverage and listen to this one. Cruz is inspiring and his story will give you hope.

“It’s super uncomfortable but never dangerous.” I love that because anxiety and panic moments sure do feel dangerous. Our minds lying to us. Just gotta keep going toward the fear is what I’m hearing and to not retreat. Great interview!

@@TheAnxiousTruth i’m struggling, terribly with anxiety and panic as well. Do you do coaching? I don’t even know where to start. My anxiety started after some serious stress about seven months ago and it’s just not stopping. I watch your videos all the time. I was just wondering if you had any one on one. Thank you Drew.

Often recovery is motivated when the pain of not doing hard things is greater than the pain of doing them. Everyone reaches that point in their own way.

Phenomenal interview. Thank you, again Drew for doing these and to Jon for being so open. So many are on this journey. I have been for over 40 years. It’s a process.

36 years here. Right there with you. No shortcuts is a hard lesson. Many years on many medications. Hoping for the “miracle cure” to come down the pipeline. Accepting there are no shortcuts and learning to do the work is hard. Hearing the success stories keeps me going.

You're very welcome. I hope you find it helpful in some way. I know some of these concepts can feel really "out there" if you've been entirely focused on trying to manage or stop anxiety up to this point. Its OK if you struggle to get your head wrapped around these ideas at first. Everyone does! xx

Does breathing through the anxiety until I can't help at all.

i go as far as I can with breathing over the anxiety and then I stop..is this better than doing nothing as all...the anxiety about sleep is bad. Thank you for all you are doing.

Two months seems to good to be true. For me it has been incremental change over a few years.
@TheAnxiousTruth
@TheAnxiousTruth Год назад
That's why we were very careful to point out that the timeline isn't the issue. It's the mechanism Cruz used that matters. Two months is quite unusual but not unheard of. The process plays out in much the same way for everyone in the end, just at different paces. :-)

Hey. I would be really interested on your thoughts of C02 tolerance. I recently came across it and it sounds like it is exactly what my breathing anxiety/ air hunger is. And you can train this which I’ve started to today but wanted to know your thoughts if it’s a real thing or not.
@TheAnxiousTruth
@TheAnxiousTruth Год назад
My opinion? That's not a thing. Far too many people get past the air hunger thing without ever "training" for anything. Be mindful of the how much of a trap things like biohacking and brain hacking and optimization can be for an anxious mind. Huberman is not your friend while in that state.

I have anxiety all the time and I feel it inside my chest/stomach, any tips to helping to get over it?
@TheAnxiousTruth
@TheAnxiousTruth 5 месяцев назад
This is something that many many people watching my videos can relate to. It's not different or unique and you're not alone in that at all. The "tips" are many. They're not really tips to be honest though. There's quite a bit of information to go through, which is why there are hundreds of videos/episodes on my channel and a bunch of other material I've produced. Start with the first episodes of the podcast and go from there. That's all free stuff.
