Lewis, Polly, Faisal, Shelley and Brian talk about what it's like to live with anxiety problems, what has helped them cope and how friends and family have learned to help them. For more on panic attacks go to www.mind.org.uk/anxiety
+shakeyshapeshifter I feel the same way! It's such a frightening feeling but you are absolutely not alone. It will pass and if you're finding it hard there are lots of resources out there - your doctor or Mind can be really helpful (www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/anxiety-and-panic-attacks/#.VlTjnd-rRPM). You can always reply here if you want more support finding resources too
Surprisingly, brisk walking worked for me. I get bad, I brisk walk wherever I can when I can (or feel the need to) and not only does it fix it there and then, but its lasts for weeks or months. Part of why I think this works is because you gain reassurance from the exercise that if 'that' doesn't give you a heart attack, then why would sitting down relaxing?? I think that is 'part' of the reason anyway. Best wishes to anyone who experiences it though. Its truly awful at times and quite frightening.
I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my RU-vid channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤
Excellent. My anxiety is coupled with Asperger's Syndrome and so people can trigger anxiety very easily. I find dabbing Rosemary oil just under my nose can help a great deal. Rosemary oil smells rather medical, as something you might put on a cut or a bruise, and so it does not attract much attention when using it.Rosemary oil does not cause sleepiness, as say Lavender tends to do, but instead it wakes you up and relaxes you at the same time.
