The part where she says "The people look like trash" is a reference to Castle In The Sky. That's why when Loid asks her where she heard that, she replies, "Anime"
The refrence about the trash is probably spot on, but "anime" is just the word they use for "cartoon" over there. It's like saying a "japanese cartoon" or "american anime." Their both animated shows, it's just that we see "anime" as more "mature" over anything labeled as "cartoons" in the west
Editors are really important. Even legendary mangaka Toriyama wouldnt have made the most memorable villains without his editors. Some of the main villains were actually inspired by them. Like Majin Buu based on Editor Fuyuto Takeda (who taught Trunks was based from him). LOL
The sad but joyful thought is that even if Loid left Yor and Anya which I feel he won't do. Yor would never let Anya go back to the orphanage. She is Anyas mother and will be forever. So, that is something she will always have.
All this time I thought Anya was calling Loid “Gi-Gi” which is actually a Greek and Latin based word that translates to “Earth-worker” or “God is gracious” but she was actually saying “chi-chi” which means father in Japanese. The more you know.
Anya (dubbed): I'm Anya. I've always been Papa's daughter. ...while eating breakfast had me exploding milk and cereal out of my nose and ears and ROFL.
Its funny to think how Loid finding out she is a telepath would help his job a fuckton. But the main problem for Anya is she just wants a family. So revealing that will not help her.
00:35 ohh this town looking similar as Chongqing town where the city is on 22nd floor of the building. When you looked top to down from the 22nd floor then you will see that this area or that area is so similar.🤔🥰
Right?! 😂 But honestly, it's really beautiful how they highlight how important the family structure is, and how even though some people want to have a family for pragmatic reasons (Yor - stability and security; Loid - great purpose; Anya - never had one), a real family moves beyond that to the point that the family becomes the reason. Moreover, if the family structure isn't around, then society falls apart, which is represented by all of the characters' backstories (Loid basically became a child soldier, Yor became a killer at a young age, and Anya was raised in a lab).
Insane work ethics has nothing to do with men doing jack s**t to help women with domestic duties and child raising. Or with the ever increasing number of socially inept young adults who feel more comfortable interacting with anime lolis on a pillow than with real-life people.
