Please refrain from shaming wife infront of other people especially the house help. Poor girl was blushing with shame when you asked the house helps opinion. Not even as a joke because it becomes a habit after a while in to your marriage and can seriously effect person's confidence. Please appreciate Anya, she tries her best to get a good tasting " diet" food in your plate. It can be considered a "banter" if its between 2 of you, and not the whole house.

The women of your family are very active and pleasant and cook for the whole family lovingly.If something turns out less than perfect,one should eat it quietly and appreciate the effort,especially coming from a wife who is fasting, studying and balancing between her parents and in laws with such alot of consideration. These comments start as banter but become a toxic trait very quickly ..its not nice to be working hard and getting criticism.I have added a whole lot of sugar mistakenly to our dinner instead of salt…i kept on adding becuase the food wasnt becoming salty.My husband came home before i could order soomething and ate that food without a single comment and told me it looked and smelled amazing despite my telling it contained a ton of sugar.This is our prophet sw sunnah.Banter is absolutely fine between husband and wife but criticism ,even jokingly should be in private.
